"My friend and I were walking the Cotswold Way and had called into the tourist information centre and they recommended this place for lunch. It was fairly busy but only one person in front of me at the counter. My friend took a seat and I waited at the counter to order. I was then told very abruptly to ask my friend to move from the table and sit on the 2 seats in the window. I was told the table we had chosen was for 4 people! My friend moved to the window to find the seats were high bar stools. We had been walking for 10 miles and the thought of sitting on high stools did not appeal. So my friend found another table which was 2 seats which looks more comfortable. The very rude Middle Aged lady serving caused a scene by shouting across to my friend telling her not to sit there. She then pointed to the sign and very rudely told me I am supposed to wait when all I had done was stand and wait to order. We just gathered our things and walked out. They obviously didn’t like the fact we were walkers and had rucksacks taking up space in their small cafe area. I was very shocked and can honestly say I have never experienced such bad customer service. Fortunately we found a lovely bakery round the corner who even though they were busy found us seats and we had a delicious lunch there. I would avoid this place like the plague. I was not surprised to read very similar reviews of this place. It seems they have no idea how to serve people!"

Excellent paninis. Good friendly service. Small negative was luke warm coffee. Otherwise a good stop over for a snack with an attached deli and grocery.

The restaurant was very unwelcoming because of the limited staff available. My ham and cheese toastie was seriously lacking in both ingredients and not worth the price of £5.99. I will not be coming back as I prefer to enjoy my lunch.

Popped in for something to eat in the cafe and was first visit. Very limited menu and small number of tables, but the paninis where excellent. Service was good, but nothing special. The deli has an excellent range of items and so ended up buying a few.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The scotch eggs and vegetable samosas were excellent. Thank you for a great meal! We visited some time ago so you may not remember us, but we wanted to express our gratitude for your assistance in making the end of our visit to your charming village and countryside memorable.

The food served here is of good quality. From siple tea/coffee and toast to a breakfast. This a=is also a quality food shop. The staff are exceptional and the tables, seating etc is always cleaned when vacated by customers. Not many are continuing with this regime, now that formal restrictions have been lifted. The staff all wore masks and asked customers to do so but there was no compulsion to do so.

We used to love coming for Sunday breakfast after a walk, and you could read the papers and see people we knew. We're glad the cafe is open again, post-pandemic, and I've been in a few times recently with friends. Great coffee and lovely cakes, but the deli food is is also great for a light lunch. Food Fanatics is very central and convenient, just off the High Street and among interesting and useful shops.

Admittedly this was not our first choice being off the High St (first two were full) but it was well chosen. The deli is great. We had our meal at the high bar so we could people watch. The quiches and homemade slaw were good as was the hot apple juice. Very clean. They are quite scrupulous about sanitising after every customer. You really can't complain about that. The staff wear masks and they seem relaxed about whether you choose to or not.

It seems like Winchcombe is lacking in good service options. After being ignored at The Tipsy Egg Café, we experienced poor management and staff shortages at this restaurant. The staff effectively blamed the customer for the issues, saying they didn't have certain items or time to accommodate requests. The prices were high, making the shortcomings even more disappointing. We ended up going to The Coffee Pot at the heritage railway station, which provided excellent service and helped save Winchcombe from further embarrassment.

We’d been out walking and were keen to sit and relax whilst eating a hearty lunch. Perching on the 2 high stools by the window the food was ok it looked bland with no type of garnish, just what you asked for on a white plate. Expensive for what it was (panini and coleslaw for one and a scotch egg and coleslaw for the other). We both left feeling hungry and disappointed by the our lunch. We were also disappointed by the manner of the staff. Winchcombe town sign says Winchcombe welcomes walkers, but we beg to differ. Maybe customers are an inconvenience here? We really wanted to like it but won’t be back and wish we’d gone elsewhere.
