Fredericks - Menu

We turned up on spec, as we were staying in Islington and knew of this restaurant by reputation. We were lucky to get a table and it was one of the best dining experiences we have had. We loved the ambiance of the place, the service was superb and the good delicious. Worth every penny!

This is a great place. The staff are lovely the outside space is amazing, especially for somewhere so close to central London. More importantly, the food is fantastic. I had the lamb chops which were some of the best I’ve ever had big well cooked and flavoured on the barbecue. Difficult to fault would highly recommend.

We hadn’t been to this restaurant for 25 years and had really fond memories of when we lived in Islington. Food and service were fantastic. Stuffed courgette flower was delicious. A spacious and bright restaurant with a large glass-topped area at the back and a small garden. The menu is eclectic with some exceptional dishes that compete with those at high-end gastropubs. However, the service is not the best given the price point; we did not have a dedicated waiter and had to call on different staff members for various needs such as ordering dessert, getting the bill, and using the card machine. The organization could be improved.

During my recent visit to Fredericks, I had a pleasant experience, although it did not match the exceptional meals I have had there in the past. The service was excellent and most of the dishes were enjoyable, however, the duck breast I ordered was disappointing in taste and texture. Additionally, the Club Room was uncomfortably cold. If I were to return, I would prefer to be seated in the main restaurant, as it has a more intimate atmosphere for a date.

We've been to Fredericks many times over the last 20 years. The service rates as about average given the prices. It varies quite a lot between visits. On our most recent visit, it took about 30 minutes for our food order to be taken, for which the waiter apologised. The food was above average, though not exceptional. My main criticism is that the restaurant fails to keep up with the times and has a very limited selection of vegan options. And if you want vegan desert, it's sorbet for you. View menu

We hired the club room for 40 people for a work's event. Everyone had such an amazing time. The venue was amazing, with beautiful doors opening onto the garden and terrace making the venue really light and airy as well as having an outdoor space to have drinks on which is difficult to come by in London. The food was amazing, each dish we had was to the highest level despite there being 40 people to prepare them for. Frank and Amina made the whole event run smoothly and effortlessly which just put the cherry on top. I would recommend Frederick's to anyone in the future!

Been to Fredricks before, it has a great ambience and is a good location in Islington. This time, it was just OK. We had a sloppy waiter, who got the order wrong, and cost them a Halibut we didn't order, we were offered it to share as the manager didn't want it t go to waste. So when everyone had finished my Duck arrived which I had ordered so I ate it on my own, and it wasn't great, very chewy and the fat uncooked, I ate it anyway as i was starving and couldn't be bothered re ordering. The waiter poured our wine instead of leaving it on the table and was so sloppy it was not true, dripped it all over the place and splashed some on one of our friends. You can do better!

Was sat at a table where the closed french windows to the garden were behind me there was a draft and the room was cold. When trying to order a main course the waiter kept telling me everything would take over half an hour to cook. I think this was to get me to order a starter. But I wanted to order a main a dessert. Finally I chose the lamb chops. One was very pink, the other 2 over cooked. All were tough! When taking the dessert order the waitress didn’t know the difference between an ice cream ‘ a sorbet!
