"The poppadoms were tasty and the overall ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant. However, we were caught off guard by the cash-only policy as it was not explained to us beforehand. The waiter informed us that we had chosen the budget-friendly option, so we would need to pay in cash. This required us to make a trip to the ATM after our meal. Additionally, the naan bread was cold and not served to us in the same manner as other customers. The waiter spoke to us rudely, and the manager made a snide remark about the bill, which we found to be unprofessional and offensive. Due to the poor service and experience, my friends and I have decided not to return to this restaurant."

Same again!!! If you can’t supply then don’t expect the order, then cancel it to suit you and leave your customers hungry… please learn from your mistakes!!!!

I went to Garam Massala for an early dinner for the first time and I will definitely be going back. The food was delicious and the portion size was just right.

Not really sure how this place is still operating. It’s never busy, the food is distinctly average and the service is poor. It’s also not particularly clean we asked for a highchair and it was FILTHY

I went in this evening and the service was terrible and never experienced anywhere so bad. The curry came and the chicken wasn’t very nice and very fatty and wasn’t what I expected. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend

They take your order only to cancel it when it's too late to order from another place. Avoid this unprofessional and unnecessary disappointment, especially when there are many other Indian restaurants that can meet your needs and provide more reliable service.

Went for a family meal on Mother’s Day. Will not be returning, the atmosphere was horrible, staff around the table constantly trying to get more drink orders, just hanging around not friendly looking at all. When taking the plates away at the end of the meal they hit a plate of food off my head in a rush to get us out. They don’t accept card, so my husband had to walk to a cash machine (what restaurant in this day and age only accepts cash? Then when they give us the bill they overcharged and tried to convince my husband he’d had a beer, when he hadn’t. Actually arguing over it when he said he didn’t have a beer. The food wasn’t great, but the service was terrible.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
