"Atmosphere of Gasthaus Zum Eisernen Steg gives you what it promised from outside. Its walls, shelfs, corners are full of interesting things, souvenirs, photographs and cards; this chaotic and beautiful decoration is created by time it is obvious and you can spend hours while examining...it. Beer they serve is Schlappeseppel; I haven't tried one in a pub before, and I find blonde one tasty. Food I ordered was a traditional German food; it was nice, but nothing extraordinary. To sum up, after a walk on the coast of Main it would be nice to drop here and have some rest with beer. It would also be nice to chat with local and generally old people in the pub if you are able to."

Very cosy place offering the "original Frankfurt cuisine". You can trust the signboard at the entrance)) However, no free Wi-Fi.

Great atmosphere and food. Service was perfect. Probably touristy, but good for the infrequent trip to Germany. It has a real Bavarian feel. Hit the spot for my one evening in Frankfurt.

We were back here in December and goose was in season. We had the goose leg (Gänsekeule) and the goose breast (Gänsebrust) and were as good as I had expected. And the bar was decorated for Christmas.

Food was lame. Ok salad and pizza was blah. Bar lady acted like a guard at the bathroom when my daughter tried to use. They served locals first. Took for ever. If you are American, just go next door to the French place. Much better food and service. View menu

We ordered the specials duck ente and beaut plate. Both were flavorful with healthy portions. Tried the apple wine which wasn’t to my taste but worth a shot. Prices were reasonable and bathrooms clean. Great ambience really gives it the extra star. Cash only...warning!

We try to stop here anytime we're in Frankfurt. The food is really good, and they have a few varieties of Bavarian beer from Schappenseppel brewery. This time we had the duck breast which was fantastic, and a big sausage with whipped potatoes (Kartoffelpuree) which...was tasty.

Since being if Frankfurt nothing better then the real deal in Sachsenhausen , we found this place by luck and brought some of my chinese suppliers. Great experience for all mainly of meats which is what we came for , Schnitzel was my fave along with the pork knuckles which was cooked oh so perfect. View menu

I stopped in for a table and meal for 1 on a night off in Frankfurt. I had the schitzel, unfortunately it was pork and not veal (I really wanted veal! . But it was good nonetheless. The beers were large, in charge, and delicious. The servers did not speak English but we were able to communicate and they were friendly towards me anyway. The atmosphere is great a trip back in time to an authentic german gasthaus experience!

We had an outdoor table with a view of the Main River – somewhat obstructed by plastic sheeting that partially enclosed the sidewalk tables. Nevertheless, the outdoor option was the most popular choice, as the inside was practically deserted. It wasn't fine dining, but it...was tasty, solid German cooking. My Jägerschnitzel with a mushroom sauce was the best I had in Germany (and I ordered schnitzel a lot). My friends gave thumbs-up to their Flammkuchen (kind of like a pizza but not tomato-sauce based) and salad plate as well. Service seemed a little harried but competent and helpful.
