"Traveling in Italy for three weeks meant (at least to us) lots of gelato. There were good locations and then there was David’s. Located just off the main thoroughfare in Sorrento, David’s boasts a great selection of creamy and delicious gelatos. Whether cono or coppetta (cone or cup), like most gelato shops in Italy, you don’t have to limit yourself to one flavor and your order will usually include two flavors. I found the fruit flavors to be light and refreshing. No iciness or gradual consistency just smooth creamy goodness. My wife loved the richness and wonderful flavors of the chocolate, sweet cream, and nut varieties. There is a flavor for everyone. Subsequent visits introduced us to the shop’s waffle and crepe desserts. In shop made and topped with fresh fruit, chocolate, powdered sugar (and of course your favorite gelato), these creations were amazing and tasted as good as they looked. Service and available seating were excellent. The owner kept a careful eye over all and he was outgoing and personable as he interacted with tourists and locals. Like almost every place we visited, English was fluent and you will have no difficulty communicating if in doubt, just point to your favorite flavor. Godit il gelato."

Stopped off here on our last day for a light snack. Had a very tasty, toasted sandwich with a drink and then to top it all an amazing ice-cream. Service was excellent, prices reasonable and very handy for the station.

First night in Sorrento and we popped into David’s on our way back to the hotel. It’s tucked away next to the train station. We were greeted by a very friendly lady (May have been the owner) and after thinking hard (loads of choices) we picked 3 scoops of gelato. Great portion size and after the first taste you realise this is just the best ice cream we’ve eaten. All home made and super tasty. They even do small scoop single cones and with a dollop of cream (that’s for next time). Plus a load of deserts!!! Great value for money too!!
