"You don't come here for the food so much as a little slice of London history. Established during the medieval period, William Shakespeare is said to have been a frequent visitor. I don't know if this is true, but the higgledy-piggledy layout of The George is an absolute delight nonetheless. The huge central courtyard is full all throughout the summer months, surrounded by lovely balconies that make people watching a necessity. I've been here for drinks on a few occasions where the smell of freshly barbecued burgers wafts over the patrons and brass band alike Great for large groups of people, perfect for a date, the drinks are reasonably priced and the ambience always alive and...read more"

London's only surviving galleried coaching inn, built in 1676 the Old Bar is still preserved in the photograph below. This place has taken to sprawling out tons of wooden picnic tables out in front in the large alleyway

amazing! probably the most beautiful old pub I was in london. beautiful personal and well-made dishes you will find here some of the classic English courses, with beer or wine. we had a bark cake and a goat cheese sandwich and finished with a apple and rhabarb crumb with vinegar apple. really a nice experience!

Incredibly rude manageress, kicked us out after we had ordered and paid for our food during an empty midweek lunchtime when she saw our small, well behaved dog. This is after we explained another member of staff had told us it was ok to go in with the dog, hence us ordering and paying for food and drinks. Never again.

London Bridge is one area which are going to definitely enjoy being at for the sheer bustling crowd that this place has. People are always bustling with energy here. I visited this pub and I enjoyed the ambience. The place has been done in a way that it adds the spunk to it. You can just go and chill out with your friends.

Here, after the big fire in 1676, the fasvite and the most beautiful historical pub in london londra, the only rebirth george, standing in the city, the only renovated bar of the city and literally a real treasure. To reach bara, you will see a unique place in the yard with two buildings on the main street in the southwark. Really. read more.

Last night in wintery snowy London, it was a perfect snug place with a great friend for some chit chat and some mulled wine. My favourite area in the pub is The Old Bar' (Borough High Street Side) which used to be a waiting room for passengers on coaches in old days. It has a beautiful rustic decor and atmosphere which instantly takes you to a wonderland.

not cheap, but an amazing, beautiful place to visit before they have a seat and eat! it is so old, from 1600, and there are also a few ghosts walking here. eating is really good, burgers were big and juicy, fantastic skin and some fine beers. our waiter was kind and helped us choose the beer. if you can book a table in the upper restaurant, near the great old fireplace recommended!

The George Inn is as beautiful as it is tasty! As previous reviewers noted, this is a beautiful and historical restaurant. If you have a friend or family member visiting you in London, I would highly recommend the George Inn as a place to go for an iconic experience I will speak to the amazing value and deliciousness that is their Sunday Roast. I have had the Pork Belly, the Chicken and the Roast Beef and these are hearty, large-portioned and very very tasty. I would go so far as to say that the Sunday Roast at The George Inn is one of the very best in London.

"I 'm not a vegan, hell I 'm not even vegetarian but that doesn 't mean you can 't eat vegan food and I do enjoy eating v/vg food regularly so my review is from the viewpoint of someone that simply looks at this type of food as, 'is it objectively good? ' rather than comparing it to meat alternatives because frankly you can get two drastically different pork sausage rolls so comparing vegan to meat is the wrong way to look at things imo. I 've been to Vegan Antics three times and tried their cupcakes, biscuit slices, sausage rolls, pasties, paninis and jacket potatoes. I have to say that I have broadly enjoyed everything that I 've tried from there. The tuna mayo jacket potato the first time really was excellent both in terms of flavour and texture and the pasties are soft, flaky and comforting. The biscuit slices were really good and the only items we were indifferent about were the cupcakes where the sponge had a slightly unusual flavour to it but this could be a one off and we 'll certainly try them again. I do plan on trying their other offerings such as the freakshakes and hot dog so I will update my review but overall I think it 's a great cafe offering excellent vegan food. Slightly marked down on service as whilst the staff are lovely and informative, it was quite a wait for my food despite pre-ordering but it looked like that might be down do the capacity of the equipment as opposed to anything else."
