"19th August Beautiful house and gardens. The shop had a good choice of gifts. We didn't find the car park, but there is one if you can't find it, parking in the village is awkward. The cafe served a lovely range of cakes which were really good. Club sandwich was amazing. The service was quick, and there was plenty of space to sit, with lots of room in between tables too. I personally loved the amount of information available in the house and the simplicity of the garden. Must go to at least once. Visited on: Weekend Wait time: No wait Reservation recommended: Yes"

Fantastic little café. Friendly staff, quick service, lots of options on the menu and coffees. This is a regular stop for many cyclists. Plenty of space for bikes. Sandwiches are recommended. Wait time: No wait Reservation recommended: No View menu

This place is perfect for a quick tea or coffee break with some cake or savory snacks. There's seating available both indoors and outdoors, and I’ve always found it easy to get a table. The rustic decor is well-maintained, and the friendly service adds to the overall experience.

What a hidden gem! I stopped by for tea and a slice of handmade cake, and everything was delightful. They have a fantastic selection, though I did see some of the food being served and regretted having just eaten cake because it looked and smelled amazing. I visited on the weekend and didn't have to wait at all. I'm not sure if reservations are recommended.

Very interesting little house museum. The ground and house are well looked after, staff very friendly and helpful. We went to dog show. Had a great day put the chef Chris was cooking in arena part, lovely beef and chicken burgers he was cooking all day poor man, but polite and cheerful, food cooked properly. Very nicely and quaint place, lovely museum with a good collection of items, not just Gilbert White but others linked to the house. Everything has been kept so original and fine, very informative and interesting. The ticket we purchased allows free entry through the year, looking forward to coming back in the spring. Free parking, if you get a space in the first car park. Excellent facilities and very helpful staff, we thoroughly enjoyed the day.

What a delightful place to spend an afternoon! The guides are incredibly knowledgeable, and the Antarctic expedition focused on Oakes is both fascinating and quite poignant. The gardens are beautiful as well. The shop and café have a lot to offer, and the microbrewery beers are excellent. They also host courses here. Our tickets are valid for a year, and I can't wait to return and see how the garden evolves through the different seasons. I visited on a weekday, experienced no wait, and I'm not sure if reservations are recommended.
