"my man and I had a special evening here last night. the pub blooming, and could no longer have been cozy with the fire burning, beautiful decor and friendly staff. eating was sensational! we had scallops and wooden to start. delicious. my man enjoyed the black bell and I loved the duck with red cabbage. my highlight was the incredible lavender cream brûlée, I don't think I've ever eaten something so delicious! my man loved the generous cheeseboard. the personal would no longer have done to make us welcome. the wee was very reasonable and very good. I love the gin bar! we will be back soon."

Quite the very best Sunday lunch I have ever had. The roast beef was cooked to perfection and the vegetables just perfect. Well done Andy and Caroline we will be back.

I feel fortunate to have a good pub with delicious food conveniently located near me. I have dined here twice since it reopened and I am pleased to say that it is one of the top pubs in the area for food.

The Rose and Crown has been revitalized and is now a must-visit establishment. We enjoyed Sunday lunch and supper during the week, both of which were exceptional. The ambiance was lovely and the food was fabulous. Thank you to all the staff.

How can a salad be so tasty! I highly recommend the winter salad and then if you want to make up for your lack of calories in the first course delight in the lavender creme brûlée! Thanks for a wonderful evening. Great hosts and a wonderful atmosphere.

Delicious lunch enjoyed by our party of 24 yesterday. All needs of the group catered for including allergies and lots of good vegetarian choices. Staff and service were fantastic and efficient both on the day and during the booking process. Well worth a visit.

Went with my parents yesterday for lunch. The food, sevice and atmosphere were second to none. We had the lamb roast . The meat just melted and as for the rest top class. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff and they were very friendly. We will be going back and soon. Thank you to you all

Today, I stumbled upon this lovely pub after exploring the lavender fields. I enjoyed a delicious lunch with a refreshing Pimms while sitting on the terrace. It is truly a hidden gem. I only wish it were closer to my house, but the journey was definitely worth it. I will definitely be returning!

my man and I had dinner here a few weeks ago on a Friday night. the pub has such a great cozy atmosphere that provides friendly and friendly staff and amazing food. I had steak that was probably one of the most delicate and tasty pieces I've ever had. the whole food was delicious and portions are generous. would be highly recommended to dip in the cozy fire even for a drink. we will always return.

"A break in the weather so we walked up to the house admiring the setting. On arrival, the door to the tea shop had a table in the way see photograph. A waitress popped her head out the door and looked at me as if she wondered what we were doing there. 'Are you still serving....cake? ' says I. 'Yes, take a seat ' and she gestured to one of the courtyard tables. We took a table the only customers (or so we thought). The waitress came to take our order I was so looking forward to a slice of cake. Imagine my disappointment when the only offerings were shortbread, brownie or scones. So we plumped for a cream tea (no fruit scones available, only plain) and a brownie. Now it is a pretty courtyard...but not in the pouring rain. Being British, we sheltered under a parasol to enjoy our tea. Unfortunately, the scone was microwaved and they forgot the brownie, but served two cream teas?! When my jeans started to get wet, we decided not to hang around and so I went to settle up. On paying (at the doorway) I looked to the left and saw another couple sitting at a table INDOORS ...all warm and toasty, plus lots of empty tables. I asked the waitress why couldn 't we have been seated indoors. Her reply 'They were reserved '. Really? We had been there 15 minutes and no one had arrived or left. It was 3.15 on a wet and windy Friday afternoon. I really felt as if we had been an inconvenience."
