"Helpful staff member explained when I booked for Tuesday night that they serve only tapas earlier in the week. On arrival happy to be told they’d decided to serve the full menu that night resulting in an unexpectedly excellent, keenly priced meal. Pigeon breast with beetroot purée starter, cajun spice coated chicken breast and lemon posset for me, duck breast cassoulet and a huge apple crumble with masses of vanilla custard for my pudding loving spouse. Both agreed it was hard to see how our meals could have been bettered, especially at these prices, with all 3 meats ‘just so’ juicy and tender with good accompaniments and attentive friendly service. Having praised the food to our server he explained that the chef had cooked in Michelin restaurants and it showed! Will definitely eat at The George again next time we are in the area!"

if I wanted to impress guests, this is where we would go, eating is probably the best in the city, but the beer is exceptional. the greeting is always good, and the atmosphere is great. it's expensive, but it's worth it.

Awesome Cajun Chicken burger. Beer selection was top notch too. My wife had Scampi and Chips which she enjoyed. Our daughter (just under two) has tomato pasta and made full use of the slide. Will visit again if in the area.
