"ostersonntagsröstung, but I suspect that a microwave meal for one can have offered more taste. I don't take any joy to write such a bad critique, but the people of bassaleg deserve better. pitiful portions (2 thin slices of bark,) unseasoned veg, chip potatoes (not...Roast); all served cold. no warning as they have reached such a good rating, but please do one please and give it a big one until they order a chef."

"Spent my birthday night feasting with friends here. The waiters were very patient with us whilst we perused the menu and decided our drinks orders. Poppadom entrées were fresh and plenty of dips were offered. We all 5 had different starters and bahjis, samosas were...tasty but not greasy. My main course of chicken Maharaja was rich and succulent. My partner's jalfrazi was too hot for him but he was warned! We had a Rogni Naan, which was a new style for us. The staff kept us all well served and the drinks were ideal. (Kingfisher Each dish was of a high standard yet reasonably priced. A great meal for all 5 of us."

"First time visit here. And my wife and I both had a wonderful evening. We had booked the previous week, but it wasn't necessary on this Saturday evening as there were one or two empty tables scattered around. Before we ordered food we had a few drinks. A nice selection of beers, wines and spirits were available. The menu is comprehensive with plenty to choose from. Prices are reasonable. When we eventually ordered, we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. It was very nicely presented, hot, tasty and the portion sizes were large. Other pubs take note! The staff were superb. Very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The pub itself is nice. The large open fire would be wonderful on colder evenings! A huge garden and decking area looks out over the countryside. Very impressive. There is also a large carpark. Two minor points, first impressions are spoilt very slightly by letters missing off the pub name. It makes the pub look slightly uncared for and rough around the edges, which, once you enter the building you realise is far from the truth! And also the gents toilets could do with a bit of TLC. There was a huge hole in the wall that looks like somebody had been at it with a sledgehammer! Minor stuff I know, and it certainly doesn't detract from what was a lovely evening out. Visit Castell Y Bwch. You'll not be disappointed!"

"Since discovering my multiple food intolerances, I have had to follow a strict Low FODMAP diet permanently. It can be really stressful finding a place to eat with intolerances to wheat, dairy, and vegetables, as I often feel like a burden and embarrassed about my dietary restrictions. However, Mamma Lina's has always been great every time we visit. They are willing to adapt their dishes for me and accommodate my needs. They even allowed me to check the gluten-free pasta packaging to ensure it was made only from maize flour, without any lentils or peas which I cannot have. The food quality and attentive service at Mamma Lina's have always been exceptional, and even with my restricted diet, they continue to go above and beyond to ensure I am comfortable, happy, and satisfied with my meal."

"Some of the dishes were truly delicious, and the service was outstanding. The only unusual part was that the korma and bhuna dishes were a bit too spicy for my taste, and the onion bhaji resembled a pakora more than a traditional bhaji. Nonetheless, it was still a fantastic meal. If you're vegetarian, I'd recommend skipping the buffet option, as there isn't much available for veggies. Instead, opt for the menu, which offers a wider selection. Overall, I had a pretty good experience and would definitely return. Service: Dine in."
