"My fiancé and I booked a table for our last date night before we wed and I can honestly say, that we could not have had a better experience to remember it! We were met at the bar by a lovely lady, full of smiles and so friendly. Such a warm welcome is rare these days! We were sat on a lovely table next to a roaring log fire and placed our orders. For starters we both had a creation of the chefs which was divine! A taleggio cheese fondant. Main course, I had a 12oz Ribeye steak, bone marrow topped with truffle, spinach topped with half a caramelised shallot (I believe) and potato dauphinoise. Hands down the best steak I have ever had in my life!! (and I've eaten many). My fiancé had Feather blade of Aberdeen Angus glazed in black garlic and treacle cooked for 14hrs served with Cheesy garlic mash. The chef surprised us with some incredible homemade ice-cream after our meal! And we took a portion of their Peanut cheesecake with caramel cream home with us too! Everything was incredible and worth every penny!"

"lunch for 3 in this cozy, cozy and welcoming small town inn. entered on a cold, gray januar Monday. they met with a burning fire and a warm, friendly reception. pleasant mood and bozz, native and visitor; dogs welcome. good menu and specials. we have all chosen another menu option. all tasty and made to house, especially 'proper' ham and cake of the day with real short herb baked instead of freezer special puff / flaky nonsense. service, worth and eat everything super. very welcome if many covid complain, esseien do not choose to open when it 'y' on the day; not to serve outside the tiny window, if chef is apparently available; and not to illuminate their advertised real fires. the bear inn is highly recommended. it offers what it says on the dose!"

"We have been dining at The Globe on and off for fifteen years now and the food never fails to disappoint. After enjoying a fantastic and reasonably priced lunch on Christmas Eve, we decided it was finally time to write a review. The dishes were freshly prepared to a high standard, with our favorites being the guinea fowl in a mushroom and cream sauce with sautéed potatoes, and the sliced leg of lamb with redcurrant gravy and dauphinoise potatoes, both served with a selection of steamed vegetables. The wine selection is also excellent, with the Montepulciano red pairing perfectly with the meal. The pub has good disabled access, which is important for our elderly relative, and Adele and her staff were very attentive to her needs. Overall, it was a wonderful start to the Christmas festivities."

"I recently visited Duende for the first time, and it certainly won't be my last! The staff at the front of house were very friendly and courteous. Although they didn't have Prosecco, I enjoyed a cocktail and was assured that they would have it next time I visit. The scallops were absolutely delicious, and I plan on having them as a main course next time. I had the Guinea fowl, which was incredibly succulent and the best I've ever had. My husband opted for the tandoori monkfish with prawns and thoroughly enjoyed it. I couldn't resist the lemon posset with blackcurrants, but unfortunately, I was too full to finish it. Despite finding the decor a bit bizarre at first, I soon warmed up to it and realized it complemented the overall dining experience. The chef, Tim, even went to each table to greet his guests and ensure they had enjoyed their evening, a lovely old-fashioned touch that I appreciated. I will definitely be returning and can't wait to see when they will be open next. Kudos to Tim and the entire staff at Duende for a fantastic dining experience! - Maggie Machin, Ham, Taunton."

"I ordered takeaway to be delivered to Waterrow Caravan site. As a long-time curry enthusiast, I can say without a doubt that the chilli chicken dish was one of the best I have ever tasted - truly first class. The tandoori chicken and pilau were also excellent. The portion sizes were very generous, the ingredients were top quality, and the heat level was just right - absolutely delicious. Thank you for arranging the delivery service."
