"For the past couple of years, I have dropped into the Goulash House on my way home when I have wanted a good, fulfilling meal and relaxation. Sometimes, I would bring my own beer or wine, but now I am delighted they have a drinks licence and I am able to drink Hungarian wines, including Royal Tokaji dessert wine. It is very much a family-run restaurant and the walls are decorated with large photographs of Hungarian scenery. The meals of traditional Hungarian dishes and some Italian ones are really great. Amongst the desserts, my favourites are delightfully thin pancakes with apricot and cream or chestnut puree with cream. On occasion, I have taken overseas guests to dinner there and they have always enjoyed and now I look forward to taking them there to sample Hungarian wine and spirits with their meals. I am also looking forward to a cheese and wine evening. Now Soho's Gay Hussar restaurant has closed, I urge Londoners to sample Norwich's Hungarian restaurant."

Fantastic food and service. I’ve been going here for years when it was called the Food Shack. One of the best restaurants in Norwich!

I had Gourdon blue with roasted potatoes (to be honest it looked more boiled than roasted also the chicken wasn't prepared how it should) my partner had Goulash with dumpling which was delicious I can say, the dessert Chesnut puree with wiped cream was very tasty.

I always like to try food from different countries and I never tried Hungarian food before. Since we cannot travel now with all this pandemic I was pleased to find this nice small cosy restaurant. The food is delicious and very filling. I would definitely visit again. Update: The food is still amazing.

thanks for having us! it was such a simple, delicious experience. I had wild boar sandwiches with roasted potato, and my partner had smoked with egg yolk. both are well executed. pfeffer heaven! red wine- bolyki bulls blood and staropramen pilger were perfect compliments for our dishes. the service was in front of location, build, comfortable relaxed and very good timed. Thanks again!

went for a ten-day break to norwich recently . restaurant was near where we lived. there were times to eat. eating was amazing. we had wild boar goulash that we enjoyed, but the next time we thought we were trying something else so that we tried the royal bark pot ... well we enjoyed that so much we went back and had it again for dessert we tried the pfannkuchen with hut cheese that was very nice, but then the other two times we had the chestnut puree that was delicious. rob the chef was beautiful and his son Ma’te, who was the waiter friendly and efficient
