"The Grillstock Festival in Manchester lived up to its tagline of 'Meat. Music. Mayhem.' Despite the slightly drizzly weather, the crowds flocked to Albert Square for a day of carnivorous delights. Tickets were a hefty £22.50 and had to be purchased in advance online as the event had already sold out. Fortunately, I received a free ticket from a friend who couldn't attend, otherwise, I'm not sure I would have been willing to pay that much without some complimentary food or drinks included. The variety of food options was impressive, with vendors like Fire Salt, Red's True BBQ, and Street Dogs offering delicious fare. Most dishes were priced between £4-6, with smaller snacks costing around £3 each. The hotdogs from Street Dogs were particularly large and tasty. Beer from Brooklyn Brewery and cloudy cider from Lazy Jacks were excellent beverage choices. Live music from Rob Heron The Teapad Orchestra kept the crowd entertained, and the chili eating competition was a hit, with brave competitors taking on increasingly hot chilies. The only drawback of the event was the overcrowding and lack of circulation space, but overall it was a fun way to spend an afternoon and indulge in some delicious food."

Although I may not be a native Texan, I will certainly be returning to Grillstock.

First off, I preface this review as being an American from Texas where BBQ can be found just about anywhere.

I returned to Grillstock this year for the third time, unable to resist buying early bird tickets for another trip to BBQ heaven. The festival, still held on Albert Square, has grown in size, with the main stage now providing more space. However, the entrance was hard to find and lacked signage, causing a bit of confusion upon arrival. Once inside, we headed to the bar, which was stocked with a variety of drinks including Brewdog beer and cider, wine, and prosecco. There were also other bars offering options like spiced rum and Jack Daniel's cocktails. One of the highlights of Grillstock is the chance to try food from different vendors, many coming from around the country. I enjoyed slow-coo...

"Went here last night at the tail end of an office Christmas party and we stumbled (quite literally inside having been turned away at a restaurant next door. It was past closing though their OPEN sign was still on. Anyway! Although Oppa was just about to close, they took us in, a group of 6, and stayed open until we finished. When I realized we were in a Korean restaurant, I was so excited; I've been searching for a good Korean restaurant in the midlands. My colleagues were much less so as they had never had Korean food and were unfamiliar with everything on the menu. I ordered for everyone and despite some of them being difficult one colleague kept asking for samosas, aah! the service was faultless. Staff were super attentive and helpful, patient, friendly, good fun, and extremely accommodating. Just perfect! And they stayed open for us quite late without rushing us out, what more can you ask for? Ok, so the food. It was SO so good and I'm already planning to go back. The kimchi was bang on how I like (a big deciding factor for me strongly fermented/pickled and spicy, and fresh. All the bulgogi (marinated meat , dolsot bibimbap (sizzling rice bowl , jjigae (stew/ramen style soups , seafood and extras that were served tasted just like I had hoped they would. Presentation was great everything looked properly appetizing and vegetables and seafood, etc were all clean and fresh. I was too busy stuffing my face and enjoying the moment and company to take photos, but the few photos I've seen on here are true to life. Other things people might be interested in: This restaurant is kitted out to cook Korean BBQ at/in/on your table. It is spacious, with lots of tables and room to move around. Decor is tasteful and minimal. It is clean and indeed I was warned by staff when going upstairs to the ladies' to be careful as the stairs and the toilets had all just been cleaned (and clean they were! . If you're looking for good Korean food, look no further. If you're looking to try Korean food for the first time, this is a great place to start. Go for it! Might see you there, if I can help it :D [I've copied this review over from where I originally posted it because this listing and the one for OPPA in Leicester are the same exact restaurant, FYI]"
