"The Fischauktionshalle is a restored Victorian market hall, and features cast iron columns and riveted ironwork. For the last 40 years it's been a venue in its own right, hosting many events, both public and private. BUT Sunday morning, all year round, is undoubtedly the best. From 5:30 am until 12:00 midday, its music, beer and food all the way. April to October there are two stages in operation and two bands play an hour each, in turn.Usually good rock and dance music. Winter time, its one stage, one band and a later start. Breakfast is an assortment from a catering wagon, fried fish, fried potatoes, fish and prawn rolls, all of it freshly made and well-portioned. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate available from another trailer, as is beer, wine and shots. Why catering in trailers? because the hall is still liable to flooding in the winter! Alternatively the organisers run a full breakfast & brunch buffet, with seating on the balconies, but this is chargeable. Entrance to the hall is free, atmosphere is amazing. People so friendly. Great way to kickstart your Sunday in Hamburg, visit the market and then into the hall for breakfast & music."
