Delicious food, nice atmosphere, very clean, friendly staff, reasonably priced, I was visiting family in the area and chose this place

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant as the food did not meet its usual standard. Additionally, the drinks were overpriced, as I paid £1.80 for a small glass of weak squash mixed with tap water.

We went on Sunday and had the carvery,Even though we went after 2pm and the carvery closes at 2-30 there was plenty of choice.I had the lamb and my husband had beef and pork.The rest of the meal was extremely good.The staff there are lovely,All in all excellent. View menu

The food at this restaurant is delicious, though some of the combinations are a bit unusual, like lasagne with chips and peas. My partner ordered the mixed grill, which we thought was expensive at first, but it turned out to be huge and well worth it. Everything was cooked to perfection.

Stayed here for a couple of weeks through work. The rooms are fairly clean, very quiet and large with a great shower. The food is good old fashioned cooking. If you are away before breakfast you get an option of a pack up, which was a nice touch also. The staff are amazing, always very friendly and helpful. Will stay here again if we are in the area. We decided to visit this restaurant for a meal and were pleasantly surprised to find that they had added a Christmas Lunch option to their already extensive menu. We opted for the 2-course meal priced at £10.50 which included tomato soup and a main course of turkey and beef with all the trimmings. The value for money was excellent and despite being busy, the service was impeccable. View menu

Really nice quiet hotel in good location Everything was nice and clean Staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfast was excellent Now for the not so good points Firstly my room was very cold and I didn’t sleep too well because of that and I couldn’t turn the heating on as the program was locked to off Secondly the bar closed at 19.30 just as I was going down for a drink So nice as it was I won’t be returning

My friends and I have been for lunch a few times over the last few months and have always received a reasonable lunch for a fair price. However, the last time I went I asked for the WIFI password so that I could check my work emails and was told that it was only made available for guests, presumably of the hotel part of the business rather than the restaurant. I mentioned, half joking and half serious, that this policy would drive away customers only to be told that they have enough customers. May I recommend that you review this policy as one day you may not have enough customers!

Me and my Husband took our two children, age 5 and 10 months for an early dinner at The Hogs Head. Our youngest child sat in a highchair provided. The meal itself was fine, our eldest child enjoyed his dinner and so did me and my Husband. However, what happened when we had the bill has not only shocked us as parents, but all our family and friends which we have since told this to. Our 10 month old son has mad some mess on the floor from eating his food. It wasnt horrendous, im always cautious to pick up the bits of food my BABY drops when feeding.
