"We have been going to this Chinese restaurant off and on for 13 years, we use it as a change to the wonderful Italian cuisine available in Lucca. Unfortunately this time we were very disappointed, it was a special occasion for our children, the staff did not take our order for 35 minutes, we were then sat waiting to be served for what seemed like a life time, our main courses arrived after 1 hour and 30 minutes. The food arrived sporadically and we couldn't eat together as a family. It is not run by the same people that we once enjoyed. To top it all the bill was far higher than we could calculate. We talked to the waitress and she agreed that things weren't as good as they used to be they need more staff. We were not happy and will not return!"

After a week of very similar menus everywhere (which is fine, since it IS Italy after all), we tried this little place just a few minutes' walk from one of the city gates. The menu was in English and was fairly typical for a Chinese restaurant, with most dishes costing 4 or 5 euros. The staff did not speak English but were very friendly and accommodating; no communication problems. Our dishes were perhaps a little small but hot and freshly prepared. The so-called spicy dishes were not very spicy, but still tasted good and seemed to made with fresh ingredients. This was a nice break from our usual Lucchese faire.

In many Chinese restaurants little kids are always running around. This place is no exception. But, they would go out the side door and leave it open and the frigid winter air was bone rattling. I ordered hot and sour soup and chicken with bamboo and white rice. I told the woman to bring my soup and then after I was done, bring the chicken and rice. Well, just like every other chinese place, she brought the soup and then, while I was having the soup, she brought the chicken and rice. i explained I didn't want it. So, she took it away. But, finally when i said I was ready for my next course, she brought the same dish out and it was now almost cold. The beer was good. Unfortunately, it's the on...
