The tavern is a very interesting typical place, my wife and I had dinner this evening, good food, normal but very expensive, three bruschettas as a starter which we at our farm in Trentino give as a welcome, we paid 12 euros. These three pieces of bruschetta, two first courses, a second course for two and two glasses of house wine cost 78 euros.

Osteria in the center of Viterbo in the medieval district of San Pellegrino. We ate here for lunch on Sunday and had a reservation. It was all full. The restaurant is in exposed stone, equipped with many wines and a wonderful underground cellar. We didn't eat the appetizer because the owner advised us to go straight away with the first courses since the place was full and we would have waited too long to eat. In fact we did so and they arrived immediately, earthworms with cheese and pepper, grilled and pinched matriciana style then we had saltimbocca alla Romana, beans with pork rinds and potatoes both baked and fried (excellent) with the pork rinds served in an earthenware pan with bruschet...

My experience was negative: the place looks good, but the air conditioning is terrible, creating an infernal heat. The cacio e pepe pasta was extremely salty and almost raw, as were the beans with pork rinds, which were excessively salty. Even the chicory was tattered and too salty. Furthermore, the staff taking orders started in a brusque tone, stating the need to order first course, second course and side dish immediately, as otherwise the kitchen would have problems.
