"During a week skiing with family in San Anton some of the group visited for a drink one afternoon. We sat in the sun outside and enjoyed a couple of bottles of Prosecco and a sandwich. The girl that served us was attentive, welcoming and despite being obviously busy she was happy to take a photo for us. It was a bit on the expensive side, but a lovely spot. Having had such a nice experience a couple of us were looking for somewhere for lunch the following day and decided we would return. Sadly the experience was totally different. It was no busier than the day before, but he waiting staff were different. We sat for 20 minutes waiting for someone to serve us. Eventually we caught the attention of a waitress and asked if we could order. She pointed to her male colleague and said he would take our order. We saw her speak to him and point to us, but sadly after another 10 minutes he hadn't ventured near our table so we got up and left. We actually walked slowly past him on the way out (just in case he might catch us and persuade us to stay).... but that didn't happen! We did think about going to the main hotel reception to complain to the manager as it was such poor service, but in honesty we were so hungry by then we didn't!. It was their loss as we were a party of over 20 and all recommended places to eat to each other. With at least some of us eating in San Anton each day they lost more than just our lunch business that day"

We had there the new year eve dinner despite we weren't staying the hotel. Nice menu proposal, maybe it would have been more characteristic of they had organized also the midnight celebration

...veggie burger once and a specialty cheese pasta the other... it is a beautiful location and cheap, the beer is great and the food is ok. On a sunny day there are some better places in St Anton to enjoy the afternoon...

The food was top class and the service attentive and friendly. Sophisticated traditional Austrian food complimented by excellent wines. Finished off the evening with a blind tasting of schnapps - a lot of fun - thanks to Hans our waiter.

We stayed at the Hotel Post and ate in the dining room for breakfast and dinner. Extensive morning buffet. Each night is different. Menus are creative and include things that you wouldn't otherwise have like deer or duck. Attentive staff. Nice atmosphere.

Only had drinks here as the food wasn't to our fancy on that day. They had a great array of drinks, some on the menu are unique and intriguing. Key feature is the outdoor seating area, which is quite large and is a terrace, so it's nice being raised above the town. The service is great but you would hope so with the prices they are charging (not cheap).

Extensive salad bar with prosciutto follow with carrots and ginger soup. A selection of three nets, scallops with risotto or roast beef with onion red wine jus or gnocchi with pepper and mushroom with parmesan cheese. Follow a light fluffy chocolate mousse with popping... candy with white chocolate neck thin block and a round chocolate ball with raspberry on the inside. Good value.

On a popular day we found post cellars, which was the first restaurant to have space for our group of 14 people. On the ground floor of the 4-star hotel is the word to note is expensive. Yes, the prices are above average, but... not Michelin-like expensive. The environment you feel like a privileged citizen, the service itself is friendly, but unfortunately the waiters in a hurry seem to be all the time and you have to try to get them to notice you. Meals are decent and beautiful, but not as excellent as the atmosphere suggests you. You can easily pay separately, which is a bonus for large groups.

"We have been skiing in St Anton maybe ten times in the last twenty years. We always go to the Hospiz Alm in St Cristoph for lunch, it's been a family tradition. We always book. We called in on Monday morning on the way through...to book for Thursday. I waited while a member of staff finished a phone call, although he walked straight past me only to return a couple of minutes later to finish the call. I was offered 12pm or 2pm on Thursday. I opted for 2pm. We duly arrived at 2pm to see signs on the door advising that the restaurant would close at 3pm. A marquee had been erected beside the restaurant, there was frenetic activity. Slightly concerning. I asked about our table, I was told it would be a couple of minutes. We waited, I asked again, same response. Eventually we were ushered into a small ante room that maybe seats 12 people. It was cold (outside temp was -12), nobody else eating, no music, zero atmosphere. We set about ordering, concerned about the time constraint. We also asked to get a table in the restaurant. No room anywhere we were told. My daughter went out to look. There was room to sit at another table. Another member of staff agreed to move us. We got our food around 2.25pm and were rushing as it was clear they were trying to clear the place. We asked for another drink around 2.45pm but were told that was not possible. I was still eating shortly before 3pm when I was asked to pay the bill. Clearly, some high rollers had booked the whole place for the rest of the day. No problem with that. I do have a problem being treated like a nuisance. A very disappointing end for something that has been an institution for us in St Anton. We will hopefully find somewhere else to replace it."
