"Not only is the outdoor seating simply magical at night, but the food is fabulous and customer service, excellent! After a long day and wanting to go to Castellabate, I drove up (didn't think my little Fiat Panda was going to make it, but it did) and parked. It was almost 10 pm and I was starving. I don't usually eat at the first place I see, but the menu here looked good so I gave it a chance. I was SO hungry, my brain wasn't working right and I accidentally ordered the Napoletana pizza instead of Margherita! When it came out with anchovies, I thought they'd made a mistake, but realized I had been the one to err! I was just going to eat it, but the waiter sensed something was wrong and immediately offered to make another pizza, the one I actually wanted. This is NOT typical in Italy. America, yes, but Italy, no. I was so impressed with this and they insisted it was just a pizza and they'd make what I wanted. It was ready in no time and I was so happy with my pizza and glass of wine in such a delightful setting. Highly recommend Il Calesse!"

is located in a beautiful outdoor terrace near the castle on one side and overlooking the coast on the other. food is very good, fresh fish dishes, well cooked and original and staff is kind and helpful. we return every year and definitely recommend it.

This was very bad. They were blasting a local radio with ads and bad music so loud that we couldn't talk. The servers seemed upset they had to work. And the food was expensive and only OK. To top it off, what attracted us there was their nice garden and outdoor tables, but they wouldn't let us sit there. Do not go there.
