"This is a restaurant used by local office workers and other local people, which is a good thing of course. It means you get wholesome food at reasonable prices. Just don't expect to be surprised. I ate a seafood salad made up of shrimps, octopus and squid followed by a hearty spaghetti with mussels. A bottle of water and a coffee finished it off. €20. It was all ok, the service is what you'd expect, indeed nothing to write home about but a regular place in which you will find exactly what you want if eating there every day as an office worker- consistency, recognisable dishes, decent portions, moderate prices. The locale is modest but clean, the toilets just modest."

Really good food in the center of Cagliari. Maybe the prices are a little to high.

Il Gatto is a neighborhood restaurant with fine pizza, local specialties, great service, and unbelievable desserts. The waiters were very professional and the overall experience was good.

We were hunting for pizza and were initially disappointed as we found that most places did not serve pizza at noon. However, this was a beautiful place we decided to stop and try the house made pasta that was excellent. Very busy with locals and tour groups. Great lunch break.

We ate really well, excellent and fast service. The right dishes are presented with style. The fresh fish was very delicate and cooked just right You could eat the really excellent first courses with your eyes rather than with your mouth. The right price for the quality served, well done we will definitely be back

Mixed reviews from my husband and I here. This was recommended but I found it rather big and staff, although attentive, looked bored. The food was good, my husband had pasta with mussels followed by a fish stew which I must admit did look and taste delicious I had a salad and a pizza from the fired oven. On the whole the food was very good and plentiful but it just didn't have the charisma of some places. My husband loved it.

My wife and I ate here every evening during our three day stay in Cagliari. The setting is lovely with high-arched brick vaulted ceilings. The menu is extensive and the quality of the food was excellent without being pretentious. They also do Pizzas but we opted for the fish dishes. Very nice house wines, both red and white. It is a short walk away from the historic centre and well worth it because it is better value than the busier restaurants. We ate early at 8 pm and it was very quiet which we like! If we visit Cagliari again I am sure we would return to Il Gatto.

A little place down a street that you may miss, but we saw this reviewed in the Rough Guide book. We arrived at 9pm and it was empty. We nearly left as an empty restaurant is usually a bad song, but by 9.15 it was almost full! We had a nice plate of assorted meat and cheese to start and a cold local beer. There is a massive choice of pizza and I enjoyed a crispy pizza alla mare with a salad. It was about 15 inch diameter and our server was a little disappointed I didn't finish it and offered prando (take out). PS try the groovy bars at the junction of Felice and Carlos Mameli first.
