"1 Star We planned a move evening out and visited on the 26/08/22 for a meal out. I am really sorry to say the food was very average at best. To start with 3 of our party all had French onion soup. We were all very disappointed and left it the soup unpicked . It was Very bland grey in colour with virtually raw onion in it and tasteless and cost £6.50 per portion. Really really disappointing. Sirloin Steak wasn’t cooked very well, not left to rest and blood all over my plate. Pudding was awlful £6.50 for ice cream. Barely two scoops covered in squirty cream. None of our party of six enjoyed our food and the final bill came to £220z Much nicer places to eat on the vale I am sorry To say. The service on the other hand was 5star and the waitress was very engaging and polite . Much improvement needed in relation to the food."

We frequently dine at this fantastic restaurant and have never been let down. The Sunday lunch is especially impressive, with generous portions of delicious food served in a pleasant atmosphere.

The restaurant has beautiful decor and offers pleasant service. The food is fabulous, with a good wine menu at reasonable prices. It is not fast food; everything is fresh and made to order for each customer.

A wonderful family run restaurant with the most well presented delicious food. We highly recommend the garlic bread which tasted amazing was a huge portion to share. The mussels were incredible as well as the curried chicken breast. We’ll definitely be returning in future

I've been coming here for several years now and I can say I've always had an amazing meal and experience here. The service is great every time and the food is always brilliant! (The pork belly is a favourite of mine) all in a rustic and romantic environment, what more could you want. View menu

I (PG) reserved a table for two, accompanied by our trainee guide dog, Justin. Taking account of personal circumstances, we decided to leave the puppy at home. When we arrived, the owner kindly enquired about Justin and then directed us to our table. We received faultless attention by employees and, in characterful surroundings, enjoyed eating fabulous food, served at a nice pace. Considering we also had cocktails and wine, we felt the cost was amazingly reasonable. We will return!

My family and I have been to Illtud's many times, but this was our first Christmas Day lunch there. What an amazing experience! Illtud's is always cozy and welcoming, but the entire restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas lunch. There was a lovely fire burning, tables adorned with festive decorations, and hot mulled wine waiting for us upon arrival. The meal consisted of many delicious courses, making it the best Christmas Day lunch we have ever had - and we dine out every Christmas. The staff, as always, were friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make our day special. Thank you to everyone at Illtud's for a wonderful Christmas experience. Warm regards, Carol G...

"I raved about this place in my last review but since then it appears to have changed. Firstly, I cant remember the chairs being so uncomfortable that they had 'scatter ' cushions for you to use if you needed to. Having had back surgery, they made it even worse for me, so did without them in the most uncomfortable chair ever. Now, to the main part of the review. The lovely cakes that I had raved about had disappeared to be replaced by a sorry looking load of bog standard cake. The poor girl who served us was nervous as it was her first day, we ordered pecan pie which came with cream, we asked if its pouring or thick, she had to ask, it was pouring so we asked if we could have ice cream instead, she had to ask. Anyway, we finally ordered our cake and coffee. When she brought the coffee, she spilled half of mine in the saucer and then asked if I wanted a different saucer....duh! she took the offending saucer and the spoon brought a saucer back, no extra serviette to wipe the bottom of the cup and NO SPOON! We were then served the cake and ice cream, which to be fair, was nice, until, halfway through I saw a hair on my friends plate, (she was not wearing her glasses). We knew instantly that it was not either of ours, I have shoulder length hair and her hair was in a bun! We called the poor young lady over and pointed it out, she asked if my friend wanted to change it...duh! Of course she did, she brought another and thankfully my friend shared it with me! The coffee was (flat white) was nice but after that catalogue of events I wont be going back. They do offer a range of snacks/lunches and people did seem to be enjoying them."
