"We were recommended to this place by our hotel staff. It does seem to be a famous place as we saw people taking photos of the outside. I ordered the pork nuckle but I felt the pork skin can be a little more crispy. Also...the tomato soup is a little bit on the sour side. Wasn't quite sure about the service either it seems to be good and bad at the same time. When we first arrived at around we were told the house was full so we said we could wait by the bar. Then min after we sat down we were told we could go sit at the table by the window. Even later we found there were quite a few empty tables not full as they told us. What disappointed me most is that we got a left-over box to go but unfortunately forgot to take it when we left. It only took us min before realizing it and we went back but the box was already thrown into trash! They did not even keep it for us for a few more minutes! I guess that is the Germany efficiency."

Restaurant is located just near Beethoven house. Looks from outside and inside like old German restaurant. Service is very kind, prices competitive, food tasty.

A nice place to eat good German food. We went there for a late lunch so it was not busy. We had some typical food like Spätzle and Schnizel, which were very tasty.

The place looks very typical as it is their food. The staff are friendly and helpful and the local is quite large and quiet. We had a wonderful time there. I can't remember the check, but it wasn't expensive. A strong recommendation.

We went for an early Saturday lunch as my husband fancied some traditional German food. He had a pork knuckle with sauerkraut and potatoes and I had pumpkin soup with a side of fried potatoes. It was ok, not amazing but perfectly edible. Good service. View menu

Our tour guide recommended this place so we ate lunch here, definitely a good choice! Wait staff was attentive, and made excellent recommendations for our meals! I had the Schnitzel with an egg on top and my wife had a pulled beef with roulade sauce,...both were excellent!

Very good traditional German food served in old style pub. Although very busy we managed to get a seat at a window. Only a couple of beers on draft but the food was lovely (pork medallions) and we returned on our trip for a late...lunch when it was not so busy and found the food to be very good again. Service efficient and mainly friendly. Toilets clean.

A well established restaurant in the historical center of Bonn( besides the Beethovenhaus). I enjoyed again the cordial hospitality and the good food in this “ old” restaurant— well known and appreciated among the Bonn” insiders”. The food: regional and well prepared. We enjoyed this...time an excellent tomato soup and liver with homemade mashed potato- purée/ apples and onions—accompanied by a good Grauburgunder. View menu

Saturday o’clock we made a reservation for o’clock. When we came back a few minutes before o’clock the same person that took our reservation told us that there was no table for us. Strange, not at least because there were empty tables....Apparently they have, at least, two types of reservations. A new reservation, for a later moment, maybe? No, also at a later moment there was no place. It was in particular annoying because it was Saturday evening; all restaurants were fully booked.

I was the only one of our group who ordered the pumpkin cream soup with roasted bacon strips and I can assure you that my dining companions were sorry for it. Well worth the It was absolutely gorgeous. My main course was roasted venison...in cranberry sauce with red cabbage, croquette potatoes and pear with cranberries. Again an excellent dish costing The goose is a speciality but I was not disappointed. We were too full to select a dessert but did order filter coffee. Unfortunately there is a severely restricted wine list of only white, red and a number of sparkling choices. We ordered a German red, specifically the Brogsitter Ahr Spatburgunder qualitatswein trocken volume (red) at I awarde...

Bonn is a charming city on the Rhine, known for Beethoven's birthplace. Typical dishes include Sauerbraten, Rhenish mussels, and Himmel un Ääd, a mix of mashed potatoes and apples.
