"Hands down the best sushi specialty rolls I've had in Germany. I think I've been to a number of various sushi places in NRW- from running sushi, iPad sushi, legit authentic Japanese, sushi buffets, to elegant five-star restaurants. One thing I've missed is specialty fusion rolls, like in the US. What makes Kaizen stand out from the numerous other sushi places in Cologne/Düsseldorf is the creativity, originality, and fusion ingredients in its rolls. We ordered the Alaska, Volcano, Spider, Butterfish sesame, and Dragon Rolls. Amazing. Each dish was beautifully presented, freshly made, and the juxtaposition of the ingredients was surprisingly delicious (for example- cilantro and thinly sliced radish around the Spider roll, or jalapeño mayo drizzled on top). This small restaurant/bar is located in Cologne's Belgisches Viertel. The staff is pleasant and nice, the atmosphere is hip, but what stands out to me is the sushi. There is not an overwhelming selection, but what they offer, they do right. I have yet to find a place that matches what we experienced- Kaizen offers innovative and different rolls that feel new among the same old California rolls and Philly rolls in most places in Germany. I hope they continue to come up with new offerings, and these sushi lovers will definitely be visiting again. Prices were reasonable- about 8€-14€ for each specialty roll. A full dinner with drinks and tip for 3 adults was about 80€- about 26€/person."

much better than the average sushi place. nothing but fresh and high quality ingredients, served with a beautiful presentation. service was incredible, so attentive and accommodating. can't wait to revise.

the restaurant was full, unfortunately the service was completely overwhelmed. the first foods were served before the drinks. eating was okay, but not anymore. sushi and tempura were not authentic (e.g. no wasabi was given for sushi, only on demand).

wow. here! was in a cold for a business trip and decided that I didn't want to eat typical German food, so sushi was a good one to go away. this restaurant is great! sushi super fresh and delicious, good, with very delicious butter fish. if they find themselves there, the drachenrolle cannot be missed. in any case they recommend this place. make them a reservation because it is not so big, but it is busy. We chanced on this place after others were closed but would be happy to go back. We got a really smooth sake that we liked a lot, even if it was served in a wine glass. We focused on the small dishes and weren't disappointed. The spinach appetizer was a very generous portion, and the gyoza was nicely crisped and tasty, as all our dishes were. Our server was really helpful and there when we needed, so excellent, even though it was late. She said they only opened a month ago, so if the front staff were a little "green" about Japanese food, it's forgivable, given that the chef in back makes up for it. We hope this place does well.

pro: eating was very decent (fried jakobsmuscheln). some variations surprised me (sashimi salat). the salatsoße was my personal highlight. the matcha ice was wonderful. the service was very friendly (dry full house). contra: the food was lacking of pfiff (fried jakobsmuscheln). the salat sauce of the sashimi salat suffocated the fine taste of the fish. Drinks and food could wait for itself (but it was also really full). the mochi-inspired pastry to the matcha ice cream was a pamper. at the end of the evening it smelled clearly after water in the room. the noise was enormously loud. Overall, I expected more with all the good reviews (and the praises). I am sadly more probable than being and a...

"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."
