"We visited the restaurant yesterday (February 19th) and were greeted by unfriendly staff as soon as we arrived. We ordered some starters, and the experience was disappointing: the fish tikka was filled with bones, the chicken tikka was undercooked in the center, the aloo tikki was served cold, and the mushroom starter was both slimy and made with very tiny pieces of mushroom. When we raised our concerns with the manager, there was no apology, and we were still charged for the subpar food. The service was appalling, and the food was shocking. We would never return, especially since we used to be regular customers here. I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs!"

We placed an order via Just Eat, which was due to take 1hr 20 mins to arrive, which we thought was an excessive amount of time, but it actually took 2hrs. Shockingly poor service

The restaurant is well-presented and immaculate, featuring crisp white tablecloths. The service is friendly and welcoming. The Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi is among the best I’ve tasted, but the day's special—lamb chops in a cardamom-infused sauce—was truly exceptional. We can’t wait to try your next special! View menu

Fabulous service with even better food. Really cannot fault this place. So welcoming. We usually eat in here but tried a takeaway yesterday for the first time and I was so pleased that it tasted just as good as eating in. This will now be our new takeaway too. Looking forward to when we can go back and eat in

I was impressed with the way they made us feel Covid safe especially as I haven't been back here or in a formal restaurant since the beginning of March The food was gorgeous and cooked to perfection. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Taj and we'll definitely be back. Alison Read

"This was our first visit. I have to remind myself that this is a training environment for students but there should be someone in charge, who is identifiable to direct the students on how to present a menu and how to place a dish in front of customers. However, four courses for £35, amuse bouche counted for one course. Amouse bouche lacked any seasoning, orzo starter, well cooked but again lacked seasoning. My wife had fish, Coley, which was nice. I had chicken breast on a bed of curry sauce with hassleback potatoes. My whole dish was luke warm at best, the curry sauce was overpowering, and the hassleback potatoes were not crispy. The chicken was lovely and moist and I ordered a side of triple cooked chips which were super hot, expensive at £4, I only wish the rest of my dish was that hot. I had cheese and biscuits which consisted of Brie, blue cheese and cheddar together with chutney. My wife had Pain Perdue which was well presented and tasty. The restaurant is more like a cafe, not cosy, so don't choose it if you want a romantic evening. Overall would I go again? probably not. If you are ever near the Lake district try to book a table in the restaurant at Kendal College. On a final note; there is parking on an evening next to the college. Drive up to the barrier and press the call button, security will let you in. The barrier opens automatically on exit."
