"This hidden gem is fantastic. It's a small, unassuming cafe where you can enjoy lunch at reasonable prices. We tried the spicy BBQ chicken rice bowl, pork and samjang kimbap, and kimchi pancake. All dishes were served hot and in generous portions. The kimchi pancake was a bit too greasy for our liking compared to other places we've tried, as it usually has a lighter batter and more kimchi. We loved the rice bowl, the chicken was flavorful and well-seasoned. The kimbap was a hit, we could have easily ordered more. The total came to £18, including 2 pots of tea, which we thought was a fair price for lunch. We're happy we decided to visit this cafe."

What a hidden gem! In the middle of a parade of shops in Shieldfield.

It’s nice to see an independent doing well and getting good reviews. The menu is small but what they do they do well. Both the bipimbap and the sushi we tried were really tasty.

Limited menu but all delicious. Dumplings and beef rice bowl both great and reasonably priced. I wish it had a bigger menu but other than that great. Oh and that fizzy mango juice in a can was MAGICAL.

Visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday and their food was delicious. Portion sizes were very generous and the atmosphere of the whole place was really relaxing, definitely Newcastle's best kept secret.

Can have excellent and tasty foods at an affordable price. Good service, friendly atmosphere, and a nice and clean place. Foods are also served quickly. Loved every menu I’ve tried, but particularly recommend Korean bbq roll (kimbap).

Amazing food, amazing prices, amazing atmosphere nestled in the middle of a housing estate on the outskirts of the city. Definitely worth visiting! Hopefully it 'll get popular enough to keep the kitchen open past 8.30 on a week night as it 's trickier for late eaters not on the 'geordie tea time ' schedule.

My student son treated me to a delicious birthday dinner at Kimchi Planet in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Korean food was yummy, the service first class with a smile and I even had a birthday message added to my plate of BBQ Kimbap. The prices are affordable and its totally a place you will visit again and again, though the menu is limited the flavours are first class and the staff friendly.

I haven’t had proper Korean food since I arrive Newcastle 3 years ago until I stumble across Kimchi Planet. And I can confidently say it’s very authentic. I’ve ordered the vegan beef bulgogi rice bowl and the “beef” is made with soy, which is gluten free and meat free! The price is super inexpensive considering how much food is in a portion. I’ve paid £5.80 for a the meal and came out with a stomach full. Great value, great vibe and friendly staff! :
