"Out for a Sunday meal, ordered two children’s meals and requested a swap, peas for gravy. I then paid but when I checked my receipt which I had to ask for) I had been charged extra for the gravy £1.50 x2) which had been added to the children’s meals. I challenged this and was told that they can not swap vegetables for gravy but can swap the peas for another vegetable e.g. mash for chips or peas for sweetcorn etc. I would have liked to have been informed of this extra cost whilst ordering and before paying for the meals so I had a choice! It is very expensive to add £1.50 to a children’s meal. This policy only adds to the cost of dining out for any family and would be a deciding factor on whether to dine here again. Customers should always be informed of the costs of ‘extras’ as they are not clearly stated on the menu and therefore it is the responsibility of staff to inform them at the point of sale. This is appalling customer service!"

Oh my days…. If a salad is no longer edible, why would anyone put this on a plate! Disgusting wilted salad. I love salad but I wouldn’t let the rabbit eat this!!! Unfortunately I can’t publish a photo!

This restaurant is a fantastic choice for either a Carvery or a variety of traditional pub dishes. The staff were all very friendly and even engaged with our children. We had a wonderful visit and will definitely be returning for some delicious cakes. Thank you.

VERY DISAPPOINTED, WE ARE STILL HERE. RESTAURANT LOVELY. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE HOTEL, STAYING 3 NIGHTS , ONLY TWO TEABAGS ,TWO MILK, TWO OF EACH SUGAR, TWO COFFEE. I KNOW IT IS ONLY A SMALL THING , THERE WERE NO BISCUITS. WE HAVE BEEN COMING FROM THE FIRST TIME THE HOTEL OPENED ALWAYS HAD PLENTY OF THESE THINGS. WE HAVE PAID £68 PER NIGHT. WONT BE COMING BACK, WILL BE GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Chicken kebab was returned as it was gristle and fat and cold then the bar man asked if i would like anything else after informing me that it was cooked as they buy it in so i opted for a yorkshire pudding and a slice of beef which i left as the yorkshire pudding was like rubber and the beef had a horrible smell and tasted off. Would i return here thats a definite no due to the attitude of the bar man and obviously the state of the food..

"The welcome we received was pleasant, although not very personal, and our details were not checked, which was surprising considering how difficult it was to secure a reservation. The restaurant is not licensed, so guests are welcome to bring their own drinks. My husband and I brought two bottles of champagne, but we were not offered an ice bucket and were given standard wine glasses instead of flutes. The food was served promptly, starting with an amuse bouche of butternut squash veloute with a creamy accompaniment served in egg boxes. The chef explained the dish himself, and it was delicious. The second course, an aged rice dish reminiscent of a soupy risotto flavored with parmesan and espresso, was my least favorite. I found it poorly presented and the coffee flavor didn't come through well. The third course, a beautifully cooked lamb cutlet finished on a barbecue outside, was accompanied by flavorful lentils. However, the broccoli that came with it was plain and could have used some additional flavor. The dish was not explained to us. The fourth dish, which I initially thought was eel, turned out to be smoked eel and was served with beetroot. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. We were served two desserts: a warm chocolate foam with orange sorbet and a deconstructed rhubarb custard with pink meringue pieces, both of which were delicious. The bill was not presented to us, so we followed the lead of other guests who left cash on the table as they left. My husband had a nice chat with the chef, and I joined in after a visit to the restroom. The chef was very knowledgeable and skilled with flavors. Overall, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of personality in presenting and explaining each dish. The experience felt somewhat impersonal and lacked interest. I believe guest interaction is crucial, so my tip would be for the restaurant to take the time to engage with guests, even if it means spending less time in the kitchen. I did not give a perfect score due to the presentation and slightly underwhelming flavors in some dishes. I believe that in fine dining, every element of the dish should be bursting with flavor. Despite this, we had an enjoyable evening and would return if we are able to secure a reservation."
