"Firstly, I want to start with the positives the food was fantastic. If your only consideration is the food, then you may just have a great time. Kitchen staff get A*. The service was very hit and miss however. You may be waiting some...time to catch somebody's eye to order, and then they may rush off before the full order has been given. The waiting staff had not heard of several of the wines on their list. Whiskey was served in a brandy glass with a slice of lemon port was served in a tumbler. Not exactly world-ending stuff, but when paying what is certainly a premium price, you do expect a better level of service in these areas. One glass of wine had a significant amount of foreign matter' resembling string in the bottom of the glass. This was taken off the bill, but was a bit of an appetite killer. Napkins were taken away with main course dishes, and no replacements brought back, which was odd. Cheese board to share pieces) came with no plates and one knife to share between us for butter and cheese. Luckily we were in no rush. After the meal we went to the lounge to finish our drinks, and asked at reception if a taxi could please be called for us. We were told they might struggle to get one booked for some time, but there was one coming shortly which was no longer needed and that we could have that one. We waited for half an hour, and then it turned out that the guests who had booked the taxi had not cancelled at all. We ended up walking home. None of the issues were especially massive in themselves, but served to erode our good spirits over the course of the night. If we had paid half the price and gone with lower expectations, we might say it was not bad'. However as a restaurant with a silver service history and airs of fine dining, it falls way short."

Nice but overpriced, went for the first time with friends I like that it has separate rooms to have a drink and chat before eating however the food was uninspiring, came warm and was overpriced

I had a wonderful dining experience here even though I wasn't staying in the Hotel. The service was second to none, very polite curtious, friendly and professional staff and the food was just as good . I would definitely recommend this Hotel Restaurant

Walking into this hotel is like a trip back in time, but don't be put off by this. It is extremely clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food first class. If you are in Cleethorpes looking for somewhere nice to eat and...not overly priced, this is an excellent choice. View menu

This was the first time that my wife and myself had been to this hotel. We met up with some friends and had coffee and a chat. The surroundings were really nice with comfortable seating. My wife and i then went into the restaurant for...lunch. We had a window seat and as it was a clear day had a view right over the river. The food we chose was really nice and well presented and served with a smile. We could not fault the staff they were all really pleasant and nothing was to much trouble.

Sunday lunch with family. The or course set menu included lamb Navarin, pan-fried salmon and pork with stuffing (among many more). They came with sharing platters of roast root veg, cauliflower cheese, new potatoes, steamed greens and gravy. All delicious and refillable on...demand. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much for them and we will definitely return next time we are in the area. This is not a budget meal but it is definitely high quality and strongly recommended! View menu

After having a mediocre evening meal in June, three of us decided to give the Kingsway a second chance by going for lunch. The food was delicious we had duck salads and baked gots cheese starters, butternut squash parmesan risotto baked haddock...stuffed with crab followed by a plate of cheese. The service in the bar and restarant was excellent. The restaurant is a nice place to sit and watch the world go. Certainly a vast improvement on the evening meal in June. A suggestion that we all agreed on was that we thought a that a bistro style menu for lunch would be a good idea rather than being the same type of food as the evening meals.

Well I want to give a and a massive Thank you to all as our meal and service was first class. My wife and I use to dine here quite regularly years back but stopped going as it got dated and lost it's appeal...but omg it's deffintaly not that anymore, it's our anniversary and wanted to go somewhere nice to get a proper fine dine meal which is hard to find now in cleethorpes which in my opinion there are only or three worthy, but from entering to leaving everything was absolutely splendid. The place has had a nice fresh face lift and just the feel of the place now is lovely. We will most definitely be coming again soon and with friends so look forward to another fine night , once again thankyo...

"Attended a family wedding here recently. The restaurant, the location and the facilities were top notch, I think you would have to work hard to improve on what they have achieved here. However, the bar staff in the first floor function suite leave much to be desired ! Their attitude and reaction to the wedding guests during the wedding reception and evening event should definatly be improved ! It began with the sullen faces of the waiting staff during the reception , most should learn how to smile only one lady waitress blonde hair new starter was polite and smiled give her a job in staff training We asked for a bread roll during lunch, to be told, only for guests who have ordered soup ! Eventually after asking again they brought two over for the brides father... The evening event was a challenge when we struggled to understand why the part bottles of wine had disappeared from the table, when most of the guests were drinking spirits and beer etc. The penny , or should I say the C £17,000 dropped when the waitresses were removing full glasses of drinks from the table without checking! When challenged , the nonchalant response was to place the drinks back on the table and march off like petulant teenager! Our dismay was amplified the following day during a conversation with the restaurant manager told us , that 's what we do, If you need to keep your opened bottles of wine on the table you need to let us know , otherwise they will be removed! oh, so the wine is cleared along with the newly poured drinks too then? I don 't think we, or anyone else we know have ever been to a restaurant and even thought to tell the waiting staff not to take the half bottles of wine away before they have been emptied ? This usual practice was not discussed when we booked ! A cynic could suspect they re sell the newly recovered wine by the glass. This said, the manager did compensate with two bottles of the brides choice , so thanks for recognising the issue. But please consider NOT removing part bottles etc without checking in the first place."
