"The pub is quirky and has a nice atmosphere, the menu is small but still have a good variety and I was very pleased with the vegetarian options the celeriac Kiev was amazing! My partner had the scotch egg and loaded fries which he also said was very good. The disappointing parts were that a simple request of an alteration to my meal was declined (I simply wanted to upgrade the chips to loaded and was happy to pay the difference) I didn’t order loaded fries as an extra as I couldn’t eat both and I don’t like unnecessary food waste and it just seemed a shame for something that could of been done easily. And a small dislike if I’m being picky is that we were sat next to the sauce station where a waitress split mayonnaise and just left it (despite picking up a cloth twice) it bugged me as it just suggests low hygiene standards. All in all I would go back and based on the excellent quality of the food I have recommend it to a couple of my friends in that area."

We just had the worse tiny burger in our lives and payed £9 and waited for an hour for it. The bread was freezing, it was under seasoned and over cooked. Big disaster. We could have had McDonalds, payed a 1/4 of the price and be more satisfied. Lovely setting, sunny and beautiful but I’m deeply offended by the bread! View menu

Came here with Tom for a couple of pints and some food. Sat outside in the glorious sunshine, sipping on lager with views of the local flood defences, made for a perfect evening. We shared a pepperoni pizza and Yorkshire loaded fries (cheesy chips with gravy) which were very nice. We then ventured inside to do the pub quiz. It was free, which is almost unheard of in the Pub Quiz community. The questions were just the right level I thought. Not too difficult, but a decent challenge. We got 44.

We visited here on the recommendation of the owner of our accommodation. It made for a lovely walk, and we took our dog with us. This meant we had to sit in the downstairs area of the pub (or outside, of course, if we'd wanted to), which wasn't a problem. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the drinks choice good. We both had pizzas, which were really nice. Overall, a nice place, and pretty good value for money. It also seemed extremely popular with locals, which is always a good sign!

We booked in for a Father's day Sunday lunch and the food was reasonably priced, good sized portions and everything was delicious. The only thing I would like to complain about is the ridiculous prices we were charged for wine.My daughter ordered our food and two medium glasses of Shiraz and when we worked it out it was £8.25 a glass. When I queried this I was told that it was because we had asked for Shiraz.I know that wine in pubs is expensive, but I think that this is more like fancy restaurant prices!!We will definitely go again for food but maybe next time drink beer!!

Not usually one to write a review but the service received from the staff today was impeccable. Table of 8 booked in advance which included my 2 autistic children (1 of whom has severe sensory processing disorder especially with food). Staff were so understanding when placing our order of things that can’t be on the plate/can’t touch/etc for our children. They even went spoke to the chef direct to ensure everything was done just right. None of our children’s requests were met with the usual rolled eyes we have received at other places. Brilliant service to top it off the Sunday roast was delicious. Not one fault comes to mind. It made our whole experience so much more enjoyable. Would 100% r...
