"Bar de pueblo regular, comida aunque buena, nada que no encuentres en ningún bar. Esperaba un plato caliente de cuchara, algo típico de montaña, ya que veníamos de la costa y también al frío. El barman muy calmante, sin sonreír, oigo que hablamos en nuestro lenguaje y no dijimos una pipa en rumano, el único tipo y con sonrisa fue el maestro mayor con acento argentino o uruguayo, no ofender a nadie. Pedimos una ensalada primero y vinimos con los platos principales. Es un poco seco para mi gusto, pero bueno. Lo que salvó toda la exquisita tarta de queso casera."

"Muy buen restaurante, comida de calidad. Pedimos el menú chuletón y el menú tierra, para 4 personas y la calidad de la comida muy buena. Tanto el chuletón como la paletilla de ternasco (plato de la casa) estaban riquísimos. Los postres también muy ricos. Tal vez la única pega que estábamos 4 en una mesa muy pequeñita y apenas nos cabían todos los platos, pero nos sacaron los primeros escalonados y sin problema. La cuenta salió a unos 41€/persona. Un sitio para volver sin duda."

"I don’t often give 5 stars but in this case it’s absolutely worth it even though we’re in a country known for its Michelin class restaurants. First up the views and ambience are first rate. We dined in the terrace with magical views of the mountains and village…swoon worthy. Next, the service is great. Very professional, helpful, friendly, even if you don’t speak English…they do! Our two waiters were excellent, with excellent recommendations for dishes and wine. They clearly took pride in their work and as part of the team effort here. The menu has loads of choices, from a very reasonably priced set menu with great options around €26 for three courses) to a full al la carte experience with specialities. The food is excellent both in terms of quality of ingredients and sensitivity in preparation and presentation. The complementary white garlic and almond cream was superb. I’d cross the Pyrenees for a full bowl, but alas it’s just a wee taster. Our shared starters of grilled vegetables with scallops, and the citrus marinated tuna, were both delicious and elegant. The very hearty jabali wild boar) pot pie had a lovely puff pastry lid with thick luscious chunks of meat, chestnuts and onion. The slow cooked leg of lamb falls off the bone onto a bed of scrummy potato. Are we really in a tiny mountain village? The quality and technique says not possible but it is! Hats off to the chef. The wine list is extensive and features some local wines which we thought were great. Honestly, this is the best meal we’ve had in three months of travelling and eating in Spain., My only note of caution is beware, the portions are huge! So much so we will come again if only to try the desserts."

"We were attracted to this restaurant because, unlike most rural Spanish establishments, its menu included vegetarian and vegan dishes. I started with braised cardoon in a rich, creamy almond sauce, followed by a brik crispy pastry filled with purple potato, mushrooms and tofu, accompanied by grilled vegetables and an onion sauce. This was a beautiful, colourful dish, packed with flavour, and if I went back and it was on the menu, I'd definitely order it again. I wish I didn't live a day's drive away, otherwise I'd be a regular diner in the Atalaya, not only for the quality of the food, but also the attentive and friendly service."

"Aunque estábamos un poco impacientes y llegamos antes de la hora de la comida que nos trataron genial. Hicimos un poco y todo estaba delicioso. Pero lo mejor de todo es la sorpresa que tomamos para decirle que mi compañero era celíaco, no sólo sabía de memoria lo que podía comer sin peligro, sino que también nos servía pan sin gluten! En conclusión, una comida perfecta, desde el tratamiento hasta la propia comida."
