"I’m not sure if this hotel has changed ownership since the last reviews but our experience was not great at all. I paid €300 for 2 nights, thinking we would at the very least, get breakfast included. Not so! The room was not very big and had a double and single bed for me and my two teenage children. Although the room wasn’t particularly dirty, there was a musty smell that wasn’t pleasant. The staff in the bar did not speak very good English, which is fine but not what has been commented on in previous reviews. We opted to eat elsewhere as we didn’t really feel comfortable in the dining area. On the first night (Thursday), there was a very loud and very bad karaoke going on, which kept us awake until late. On the Friday night there was a loud band on. All of this could be heard very clearly in our room. I think the owners need to decide whether they are running a bar or a hotel and people need to be warned that this is not a suitable place for families. On checkout, I then found out that I had to pay and extra €8.40 in tourist tax. **** cheek! We could wait to get out of there and will definitely not be returning."

Beers good - live music on some days - burgers are great - although going for the challenge is to be avoided ....

We had come here after a morning of skiing to have some lunch. Highly recommend the really tasty nachos and the beer is great. It is location at the end of the 'home run' so you have beautiful views of the slopes. View menu

This pub has a great variaty of good with very good quality and all at an afordable price. I had dinner twice here during my ski holiday. The burgers are amazing and home made! The service and live music were also good.

This is probably the best lunch I have had on the mountain. Annoyingly it is located at the bottom of the Prodains so need to plan the morning to end there for lunch but it is well worth it. Three friends and I had a great meal, the portions are generous and food of good quality. It is by far the best value ski in/ski out restaurant I have visited. I will be going back!

Went to eat some Austrian German food that was advertised...best Schnitzel and Goulash in town...just to find out that the restaurant has a new ownership and no Austrian food is being served. Quite disappointing since we travel by local transportation from Morzine on a rainy evening just to enjoy some good Austrian food. Please update TripAdvisor by stating that this restaurant is not serving anymore Austrian German food. La Kinkerne is a locals favorite in Prodains and we were there on our chalet hosts' day off in Feb 2017. In fact we met our hosts there and they joined us for some food! The food is very good. If it were Britain I'd probably use a phrase like "gastro-pub". Basically very decent French food (our group mostly had fondue and charcuterie), served in an informal setting and friendly environment. If we're back in Prodains we'll certainly return to La Kinkerne - tasty food, good prices in a fun place to hang around.

Nice hotel in a great location. Rooms are very clean and comfy. Neal’s Yard products are a nice touch. Bar is great fun and lively early on. Dinner was very tasty and a good variety. Breakfast was just the basics, but yummy bread and croissants, and pots of tea or good coffee. All staff were very friendly. Very short walk to ski shop and the Prodains Express. Les Prodains is quite quiet after Apres. Not easy to get back from Avoriaz in the evenings. We didn’t try Morzine but would definitely check you can get back. Would definitely go back for a weekend.
