"I was in the area with a friend and we were looking for a place to get for a quick lunch. We found La Mancha and, initially, we were the only ones in there, but decided to give it a try anyway. Once inside, you'll be welcomed by a quaint atmosphere, with a colorful and eye-catching décor. It does remind me of my own Latin roots. From the table we were seating, everything felt like a authentic Spanish location. Even the street outside gets feels like completely different place, than the busy city beyond the buildings that surround it. There was Spanish music playing in the background which was at the ideal volume, loud enough to cover any background or street noise but quiet enough that it doesn't distract or covers your own conversation. Anyway, we have ordered a couple of dishes each and I must say, we weren't disappointed. Everything was fresh and tasty and completely on par with the look and feel of the restaurant. Prices were quite good and we were satisfied with the overall experience. On the downside, this restaurant might be a bit tricky to find as it's on a narrow side street, but it's definitely worth it and I highly recommend it."

Food was nice, building is lovely, but service poor asked for drinks order but offered no drinks menu, so no idea of cost or range available. Food nice , but nothing special. Staff seemed like couldn’t be bothered- no checking for refills, no asking...if everything ok and no thank you on payment.

Little hidden gem tucked away down a cobbled street in the centre of Rochdale with a lovely gin bar opposite. Food was better than average but would probably have opted for ‘good’ rather than ‘very good’ had that been an option. Excellent value for money...our table of ordered plenty of food and bottles of wine and the bill came to Good service considering how busy it was. The let down for us unfortunately was the surrounding area which was quite unpleasant particularly when we were leaving.

we have come to la mancha for many years, but since the kovid we were not. the salad, the broth and the kartoffels bravos were very good, the other tapas were terrible. the strips of bark tasted of nothing but salt, which tasted lamm kofta. as it was bought from a super market, none of the dishes had tasted and they were tepid. we both liked one the next day. we will not return to this tapas bar again. we wondered if there were new owners, his definitiw another cook. when eating continues to taste so, they lose all their existing customers. After years of living in Manchester we moved to Newhey and thought we'd give this place a try. I really wouldn't bother. Served by young girls who look like they cba. Provided with a piece of paper where you tick what you want which is...strange. No recommendations or advice from the waiting staff. Rleverythijgbis fried. The calamari is rubbery and oily. The paella is the worst thing I have ever eaten... Think dried packet yellow rice with birds eye veg mixed in. The garlic potatoes and the chorizo were OK. Won't be back. The wine bar across the way is nice though.

The food was mediocre at best. Previous review mentioned Aldi baguette for garlic bread, I thought exactly the same last night. The prawn dishes were all from frozen prawns, swimming in water, the rest of the food were microwaved. Convinced they were no better than...a ready meal. The service was truly shocking. The minute we got there, we were putting the waitress out by having a table booked and her having to show us to it. At the end of the evening, another waitress slammed a takeaway box on the table for us to scoop our left overs in, then walked off muttering something under her breath when I questioned why they were not able to do this for us. She then made her way over to bar to join...

"Visited yesterday at 4pm and can confidently say we will never return. Ordered 4 soft drinks which took over 20 minutes to arrive and when they did arrived incorrect with additional drinks we didn't order. When ordering our food, several things we wanted off the menus including the childrens menu) were not available however nobody had said this to us prior and the waitress looked this this was clearly news to her when I informed her someone should have said this when we say down. 2 of our group ordered starters- £8 for 4 pathetic peices of calamari which didnt even have a piece of lemon or a bit of garnish on the side for presentation purposes- absolute rip off! Ordered 3 sunday lunches which took over hour to arrive and when they did eventually arrive were cold and missing the veg. When I questioned where the veg was on the plate, the waitress returned with some limp, wet and pathetic looking cabbage on a puddle and said there were no carrotts left. No apology no nothing. Told her is really wasnt acceptable and again was looked at like I was just being difficult. 5 minutes later another waitress appear with some equally pathetic looking carrots so they did have some clearly. Husbands chicken burger looked equally poor and pretty dry and burnt. The weather also took a turn whilst we were waiting for our food which had resulted in groups of drenched and very drunk people coming in from the beer garden who were being loud and brash cheering and just generally being drunken. The so called manager said and did nothing to quieten them down even though you could clearly feel a change of atmosphere inside from a family venue to what felt like being in the weatherspoon at 11pm on a Saturday night. As a result of the drunk groups, people were getting up and moving trying to get a table away from the noise and rowdiness. 2 pensioners who had moved eventually gave up and left without ordering informing the manager that it was because of the noise...again he did and said nothing. We couldn't bare being in the place for another minute so asked for the bill instead of desert. This arrived included drinks we didn't have on it which we had to get removed. Overall the service was terrible, food was shocking and atmophere awful. I never write reviews but didnt feel I could leave this one without one. This place needs to decide it its a bar or a restraunt, the manager needs to take charge, co-ordinate his staff and get a backbone to deal with drunken customers and the waitresses need some real training in expectations of good service."
