"With its slight Asian twist, La Mandragore menu offers a welcome variation to the common Périgordian menu that is the staple fare of most restaurants in the region. Catering to both meat and fish lovers, we recently had another fabulous meal there. Starting with the warm melon and foie gras, we moved on to the most stunning onglet de boeuf I've ever had, finishing up with a chocolate desert so infused with chocolate you can almost smell it at 100 paces. The view on a balmy summer's evening is just superb and the service, whilst with very limited English, is warm and informative. If I can find fault, I think there's room to work on their wine list and we had to ask a couple of times for another bottle of water."

We took the chef's menu, just 25€. 3 courses plus a teaser from the kitchen. Terrace a bit windy but still the best place to eat. Try to get a table around sun set. Worth every cent!!!

We have had some great meals in Terrasson but this topped them all. We had the Chefs choice for an amazing value of just 25 euro - prawn and scallop, followed by an outstanding white fish with risotto and canard jus and Parmesan, finished with a lovely citrus panecotta. Absolutely wonderful. Just behind the Abbey - dont miss it!

You must sit on the terrace and watch the sun set while you eat because the views are unbelievable. Great atmosphere. great service, friendly staff. I am a non-french speaker and they were really helpful. But far and away the best part of La Mandragore is the food!!! It is slightly different than what you would typically find in the region and the fusion of flavors was magical!

First class outstanding food, staff are attentive but not over the topStunning views from the terrace over looking the river and townThe Chefs special 25 euro menu is very tasty and good valueAll the other food on the menu either tasted or looked extremely good.Good selection of wines and other drinks. This is the fifth time visiting Terrasson and we always try and eat at La Mandregore two or three times during our stay.It gets booked up at times and is closed on Tuesday's.

We're here for lunch. Did not know about the place, only happened to see it from the cathedral to the city below. There was another couple on the terrain. Sometimes you're lucky! My friend enjoyed her well-stocked fish soup (Chaudrée... Charentaise a lot! I had a very well prepared duck breast caramelized with a pastry of small tomatoes in a apricot short. Nice! The main court costs 23 euros. Together with a starter, it would be 28 euros. I didn't pay this price for a lunch, but was happy that I did.

Great food but... The menu is so limited; if you like the food offered your luck us in but other nearby places offer much more choice. One of the restaurant's selling points is its terrasse overlooking the town's rooftops. That's lovely if it's not hot and sunny as the umbrellas provide insufficient protection from the sun. The small vaulted dining room is delightful but some might find it claustrophobic. Not a place to eat if you are in a hurry. Food well presented but 'over-explained' by the waiting staff, its possible that you might have two identical side salads during the meal and their contents are explained in minute detail each and every time they arrive.

While on holiday, this restaurant was highly recommended ... and deservedly so ! Our table on the terrace offered up amazing views of the river, which became even more appealing as the sun set ! We were also able to see the flourishing herb garden...which is used extensively throughout the dishes served. We all opted for the Chef's Special, which was a 3 course delight, starting with an unusual pairing of crème brule with a fois gras filling, followed by a delicious veal dish, and an amazing dessert. Our waiter was charming and explained each dish in detail. It certainly made our last evening in this gorgeous area very special, and I'm happy to recommend La Mandragore to anyone who enjoys a...

"To discover this starred restaurant, we made the choice of 7-course menu. We were conquered by the quality of the kitchen, the dishes are fine and the dishes are well made. The room is very beautiful, with its high stone vault. However, a few regrets: a calf ris not cooked enough for one of the guests, the cheese plate (which counts as 1 dish) is very disappointing, only 3 pieces lost in the plate, nothing extraordinary for a starred restaurant. in the wine map, a large part of the wines at affordable prices (about 50 euros) is no more available, if you do not want a bottle at 100 euros, the choice is very limited. the most negative point of this meal was the service. a lot of maladdress and deviation: one of us is allergic to walnuts, we had specified it during the order, at the time of the cheese of walnut bread was served us. Faced with our remark the server told us that the information was not noted for our table, it is to be wondered if the delivery had been given in the kitchen. during the aperitif, a second plate of amusing mouth was served to us, then removed when the server realized that we had already had it. We had to claim a water carafe by three times. Overall, the 3 servers looked somewhat lost and delivered to themselves. the service was really not up to what can reasonably be expected from a starred restaurant with a 95-euro menu."
