"We just arrived in Vienna after travelling in other cities for a few days, and we were starving, so we decided to go out to find food without doing any online research. It was our first time in Vienna! This was a lovely place to sit and eat, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was nice. The schnitzel is excellent, and great value for the price. The pasta with seafood is a bit stingy - there is hardly any pasta in the dishes, so you still feel quite hungry after you have ordered your meal. This is strange because pasta is quite cheap! Nonetheless, the dish was delicious. The beer was great, the dessert was tasty, but also on the small side. When the time came to pay the bill, which was €64,~ the waiter suggested we round up to €70. When I offered a smaller tip, the waiter said "that is not a tip", so I felt embarrassed and paid the €70. This is he sort of tip we would pay in a country like to US, so it didn't seem right. When we went back to our hotel, we asked at reception about the local custom of tipping, and they said that tipping is happily accepted at restaurants, but there is no expectation that a tip is going to be given, however you may tip €1-€2 if you have enjoyed the service. We were told that there is certainly no expectation to tip a minimum amount, because this is the customer's choice, and that the man was stupid to ask for more money!I feel stupid now, and annoyed that I fell into a tourist trap. I will not go to this restaurant again =("

Had a lovely lunch of fresh sea bass, filleted for two; with vegetables and roasted potatoes in rosemary. Delicious, with lovely wine, beer and espresso. Great service.

If you have ever been in Vienna and visited Naschmarkt, you knew you have to come back someday. During our second visit in this beautiful city we went to Naschmarkt again and discovered this great restaurant. We had tasty and fresh pasta. Definitely recommended!

As you walk through the Naschmarkt, there is an awful lot to choose from. This spot had wonderful staff and a spot to sit outside under heaters (it was cold that day). We were able to enjoy some people watching, good food, and great discussion...with the waiter who was originally from Islamabad.

We had plate with fresh seafood fish for two and the meal was simply amazing. Very fresh and very tasty. Our daughter had pasta which was also incredibly good. We didn't expect such a good fish restaurant in Vienna! Lemon cake was excellent, too, I feel so sorry I couldn't try Tiramisu and Panacota, but next time for sure. View menu

La Piazzetta is in the Naschmarkt and has a sister Asian restaurant opposite. This means i one of you fells like wonderful Italian food (Fabulous menu - broad and excellent fish and Risottos) and the other Thai, Chinese or Malay food, then you can mix and match. Food beautifully present with excellent fresh ingredients.Genuinely a lunch to remember. And a bill of only €44.30!

This little spot may have had one of the best spaghetti bolognese I've ever had! El dente pasta with a beautifully flavored sauce. The seafood soup was in a flavourful tomato broth with fresh herbs and a tonne of shellfish and white fish. Ever time I thought I was done I'd find another shrimp or clam at the bottom. Very generous portions served up. Some of the seafood was a little over cooked, but not enough to complain about. Still a super satisfying meal.

We visited Naschmarkt and unfortunatelly sit in bad restaurant because kids were very hungry I ordered gulasch because on menu it was with dumplings; came whit pommes frites...hey...gulasch whit pommes... the waiter didn't mention that when taking an order). Wiener schnitzel and spare ribs...were also whit pommes......probably pizza would come also whit pommess... At the end when asking the bill, the waiter is demanding a service charge on top of what the bill says. Thought it depends if one is satisfied whit food and service, and we certanly wasn't!! STAY AWAY! View menu

This restaurant in the Naschmarkt is a bit touristy, but the pasta was excellent. The spaghetti Bolognese was fantastic as was the penne pasta with four cheeses. They have a good wine list with several choices of Chianti. The menu is in multiple languages, even Russian, and has beautiful pictures showing the food - magazine quality photos. When our meal was served, two of us were served, then one, and then the last about 5 minutes later. And, it was not right. A correction was quickly made, so the night ended well. I would recommend this place for the good food, but be prepared for uneven service. While bread should have come before our meal, we had to ask for it.

Before an evening stroll around Vienna, we visited the Market. A friend who spends a lot of time in Vienna, suggested we walk through the market and pick a restaurant. He said that the Market restaurants are favoured by locals as well as tourists. We chose this one because they had not only Italian food, but schnitzel and goulash. Plus, they had outside heaters! The service was very good, friendly and he spoke English. The menu was in both English and German. The food was excellent. I started with the tomato soup which was made better with little balls of mozzarella. I then had truffle risotto which was very, very good! Portion sizes were good and the prices were good. The beer was also cold...
