"I really like the food and it would unquestionably be my first choice for Indian even though it's also one of the more pricey in the local area if it weren't for the unapologetically slow service. I ordered quite a bit ahead of time a few months ago but, when I went to pick up the food at the agreed time, I still had to wait well over 20 minutes so can only assume that they forgot about my order and didn't start cooking until I got there. They shrugged it off and said they were busy. I decided to give them another chance on Saturday, ordering before 6pm so I hadn't anticipated it getting mad for orders yet. However, they were already really busy and it was hard to get through but they called back (fairly promptly , took my order and after taking my money, informed me that the food would be with me in around 2 hours. I commented at the time that they should have said this first as I would have ordered something from elsewhere (I'm guessing this is why they didn't! . The food arrived 2hrs 50 later (with no apology about the delay or any kind of recompense good will gesture and whilst it tasted as good as previous experiences, I was a bit disappointed to find that my husband didn't have any extra coriander he'd requested and that I'd been charged extra for masala sauce. (I don't like the veg sauce that comes with biriani so asked if it could be swapped out, the person who took my order checked and said yes so I'd not anticipated being charged. If I'd known it would be treated as an extra instead of a swap, I'd have kept the veg sauce for my husband to eat the next day since that had effectively been paid for too . I'm pleased that a local business is doing so well BUT please get better at time management so the food is ready when you say it will be and if it is going to take longer than an hour, you really ought to say that straight away and definitely before backing someone in to a corner once taking their money. It's unlikely we will use them again because I just don't think they care that much about the customers once they've had the money."

After ordering our first takeaway last week, we decided to dine in this evening. The service and the food was totally outstanding. If you haven't been, as like us, you may think it's a little out of the way, go. You certainly won't be disappointed

For the first time I'm really disappointed with La Royale. Ordered a takeaway which arrived half an hour late. 3 of the dishes were absolutely swimming in grease and my friend had dry, overcooked chicken and an unshelled prawn! I've been having food from here for years but this was nothing like I was expecting. Sorry guys but something seems to have slipped and I may try another curry house next time.

We have had takeaways from here quite frequently. Nice food and friendly staff however most times I have been given a time for collection I have gone to collect and then waited, this time was well over an hour in the restaurant. I was told the manager was going to contact me regarding the delay (and there were others in at the same time waiting just as long) but they didn't bother. Due to this I won't be back.

After living in the area for a year, we decided to try this restaurant for takeout due to the lockdown. The man who took our order over the phone was fantastic and processed our payment without any issues. The food arrived on time and was still hot. The chicken korma was the best I've ever had, and the mushroom rice was flavorful. The garlic naan was also delicious. We will definitely be ordering from this restaurant again.

So we have only had take away from this place with it being under covid lockdown etc so on a rare Child free night we decided to visit and we were not in any way shape or form. Great atmosphere the staff were great at helping you pick a meal that was good for you and when tbe food came ir took it to another level. Great presentation and flavour to the max. Naan bread were crispy and flavoursome. Even the coconut ice cream surpassed all expectations. We will be back

We used to frequently order takeout from La Royale before the Covid-19 restrictions. This week, we ordered again since we couldn't dine out due to being in tier 3. The food and service were both excellent. However, if you are picking up your meal, it's advisable to give them ample notice as the wait time can be longer than you anticipate. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and helpful. I would definitely give them a 5-star rating if the preparation time was more consistent. We will definitely be ordering from them again in the future.

We are fairly regular visitors to La Royale. The food is good, and each time we forget how long we have to wait for it. This evening it was almost an hour for the starter and one hour and twenty minutes for the main courses. When they arrived they were delicious, and the staff are friendly. But they presumably prioritise take aways. And after more than an hour you remember that this also happened last time we had a sit down (August I think). Its a Bring you Own place. So, if you are prepared to make it a long evening, make sure you bring plenty of liquor...

I have driven past this restaurant many times and from the outside, I would not have thought to go in..... BUT, my daughter had been given a recommendation and when we couldn't get into the local pub lockdown ending busy) we decided to give it a try. I am so pleased we did. The service was excellent, the food was really really good, the atmosphere was great too.The bill was also unexpectedly low...for 5 of us, 3 courses each the bill was £106. We brought some home as a takeaway as we couldn't eat it all. One reason for the extremely low bill is that they do not have an alcohol licence. BONUS in my opinion. We took a case of beer £8), a bottle of wine and all had enough to drink, We saved wha...

I was really disappointed with my experience at La Royale this time. We usually dine in, but decided to try their takeaway service during lockdown. It was a very busy Saturday night, and when I called to place my order, I was told it would be an hour and a half wait for collection. I thought it was a bit long, but agreed. When I arrived to collect my food after the agreed time, there were a lot of cars in the car park, many with people waiting for their orders. Inside, there were about three people waiting for their food, and a few others standing outside. I was informed that there would be an additional 15-minute wait because the kitchen was backed up. I understood that it was busy, but wha...

"Very good. this renovated and updated gastro pub has a beautiful, high-end feeling, without too posh. the personal is pleasant, real and well maintained. good drink selection! music selection didn't seem fit, but not extraordinarily. eating is exceptional, but, based on some personal preferences, there were slightly smaller disappointments with each dish. all were presented beautifully! the scallop starter was perfectly cooked, but there was an unexpected sticky texture on the sea red side. the chilis needed something sweet to balance them, but it was a nice warm pop. the acid from the grapefruit mixed with the petersilie mayonnaise drizzle, but both were delicious. some either flash-frozen or dry germinated greens gave beautiful texture, and the dish as a whole was beautiful. the duck ice starter was rich without being hard. slowly boiled (inspiring sous vide,) the egg was perfect. it was on a bed of slowly baked cheekwange, which is longing! some picking mushrooms have also added beautiful acid contrast. the brioche disc on which everything sat was not my favorite, but again can be personal preference. it seemed too thick, dense and sweet for the court. either would have been a nice sourded or an airy crawling cut my choice. again a very tasty dish. the healbutt main was absolutely wonderful! in butter lubricated, with fennel, white asparagus, a butter sauce with raw and squid-ink pasta. all with dill fronds. only small critique was the toughness of the tips of the braided fennel without knife, which is suitable for cutting through. a unique and very pleasant experience! it was great."
