"a simple halt to death to soothe our stomachs that cried out the famine and could not bear the remaining 2 hours of the road. small pizzeria in the city center held by a couple where pizzaiolo does everything himself and he has merit! we were served pretty quickly despite the full restaurant. For me, a little slutty pizza I had trouble finishing. well-stocked pizza and delicious dough."

Pizzas are very good, well-stocked and very large. The boss is friendly. The waitress a little on the reserve.

"September 2013 was our visit. This became our go to place for dependably delicious food while staying in Mortagne au Perche. Our hotel had a lovely restaurant but our budget was slim and it was the highest priced restaurant and we just wanted to experience Normandy generally, not...haute cuisine. La Pomone was just honest good food. We stumbled on this small establishment on a Monday, when the whole town seemed shut down except one bar, where we'd eaten earlier in the day. This restaurant was open on Tuesday as well and so we ate there again. It was fortunate that it did taste so good, because we really were trying to sample lots of cuisine. But in the end, we agreed we'd have eaten there again anyway. It has a neat collection of camera memorabilia, and looks like a husband/wife team ran and probably owns and runs it. She took orders and let me use my French speaking skills, instead of cutting me off and switch to English (yes, she understood English). He quietly stayed in back and cooked great food. We have been missing their crepes ever since we returned to the US. We had the steak hache et frites, and jambon et fromage omelette wonderful, creamy and fluffy. Also really enjoyed desserts of chocolate crepe, and especially the crepe with apples and crème fraiche, topped with Calvados flambé. I was too full but could not stop eating the apple crepe. It would have been a sin to waste it. The pichets of house red were tasty and comforting. If we found ourselves returning to France, we'd take the opportunity to swing by."
