"Twice now i have been here and ordered a Vegan Cheese toastie and twice the meal has come with non vegan coleslaw on the plate. The first time this happened the waitress came over to me after 10 minutes of me receiving my food and told me 'btw the coleslaw is not vegan '. I told her that in future they should not put this on the plate as the meal is advertised as vegan, but i personally was fine to continue with my food and just leave it on the side. I tried to get the point across that this is really bad practice as people with allergies order vegan and this could have caused the cafe to be shut down if given to the wrong person. She couldnt understand my point and said 'but its fine as we make sure we tell people afterwards '. But after the plate has been put down may be too late for some people and cause an anaphylactic reaction, as i had already has my plate for 10 minutes before being told. She then went and spoke to the chef and came back out and said in future they are going to put the coleslaw in a pot on the side of the plate on the vegan meals instead. To which i said that is still so bad. It just shouldnt be on the plate at all. We left it at that as i dont think my point was getting across to the chef or the waitress. I then visited again last week and my sister ordered me a vegan toastie. Again, the meal came with non vegan coleslaw. This really needs to stop as you are going to give this to someone with allergies and this could shut the cafe down."

Competent cafe, friendly staff, lovely views over the lake. Wished we had stayed for lunch, instead of walking back to the Metropole.

Went in the boathouse and a young woman at the counter rolled her eyes at me and told someone else to serve me, so sassy and full of attitude

An afternoon celebration for School Nursing Immunisation Team! 75th NHS birthday! Fantastic location, amazing food service, felt overwhelmed when the staff at the cafe also gave us a cake to thank us for our service to the NHS! So thoughtful definitely appreciated by all! Highly recommend!

I came across this fantastic restaurant by chance and decided to stop here with a big group of friends for Sunday lunch on our way back from a weekend in Caernarfon. The location was great, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious! I will definitely be returning here in the future. View menu

Following a recent visit I checked out the food standards agency (FSA) scores on the doors for this venue. It scores a lowly 2 out of 5. Not that you would know it on entry. The sign is very high up and to the right of the door and not prominently displayed as a proud service provider would. One to avoid until some serious improvement.

We stopped by for a coffee while our family was out on the lake. It was quite busy with lunch service in full swing, but we managed to find a table on the balcony. We ordered 2 flat whites, which were promptly brought to our table. The coffee was lovely and the staff were very friendly, despite being very busy. A special thanks to Jane, who made me laugh while I waited.

I recently visited this restaurant for breakfast. I ordered a small breakfast and was disappointed with the quality of the sausages and hash browns. They tasted like they had been deep-fried and were not very pleasant. No one asked me if my breakfast was satisfactory, but if they had, I would have told them it wasn't. I don't think I will be coming back for breakfast again. View menu

My Family I booked to have the Christmas Menu at the weekend in the conservatory it was fabulous. Firstly it was an excellent menu choice the food service could not be faulted. Between us we had ordered most of the dishes on the menu has there were 17 of us every dish was beautifully presented, piping hot delicious. Service was brilliant, the courses were delivered to us very quickly the staff were friendly professional. There was plenty of food for each chosen course a lovely selection of seasonal vegetables with the main. We are already in discussion of a return visit. Many thanks to the staff chef for making it such an enjoyable tasty evening.

As with all cafes in this area, its a pleasant setting breakfast by the lake. You have to go to the counter and order, nobody will come to you. Surly service. 40 minutes wait for scrambled egg on toast 2 coffees each whilst we waited. My wife went to ask when the food would arrive after 25 minutes waiting, and was told theres plenty waiting ahead of you! Food turned up wrong toast with each order. Scrambled egg Had a garden pea in it. Maybe we shoukd have walked out after 25 minutes wait, or asked for a refund. School children were waiting on tables no training very poor service. Even fresh fills in llandod is marginally less surly with customers although no or poor service seems to be the l...
