"I frequently visited the Baribal about 25 years ago when I was a PhD student across the street at Pasteur. Coming back in 2017/06, I am please that nothing changed - it is still the same tourist-free restaurant where 'normal' people eat and have a good time. Even the menu did not change in the last 25 years which speaks to its quality. Traditional French cooking, fast service, a good house-wine. The top dish is the Veau auch Rocquefort with potatoes (pommes sarladaises), and the tarte tatin. This is for sure the largest and highest tarte tatin you will find in France. The house red wine is on tap and thus served cold. Excellent experience."

Le Baribal is a true Parisian bistro with neighbourhood ambiance. Order the Veau Rocquefort, you'll never forget it. Ask for Bela the Maitre'D for great service.

The place was very busy when we arrived. No English spoken but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to translate the Plat du Jour. Service was good considering the crowd.

We felt very welcome in this neighbourhood restaurant with authentic home cooked meals. For the prices and the quality of food it should have been busier. We were pleased with both the meat pie and the duck that our group ordered.

My husband is an airline pilot and had been taken their years ago by his crew. Over the years our own family has eaten their and we recommend it to other travelers. Get the Veau Rocquefort, We were all shamelessly licking the fork this past August. It is so cheesy and crispy on the top. Yum can't wait to go back for more. Family members have had the duck and said it was excellent.

Le Baribal in Paris excels both in the quality of its dishes and in the excellence of its service. A memorable gastronomic experience, thanks to a warm welcome and perfectly executed traditional dishes. The old-fashioned atmosphere and attentive staff make the meal pleasant, It is an essential address for those looking to savor authentic French cuisine in a friendly setting. I recommend.

It's all about an authentic bistro experience with really good classic French food. The decor is simple and worn, and the servers are not runway models, but they are wonderfully and unashamedly French! The three of us had great meals and 2 bottles of fine Gigondas (at 38 euros, among the most expensive wine on their menu!) for a reasonable price of about $60 per person. I had an endive and lardon salad that was quite filling. The veal Roquefort was very tasty and could have served 2 people. Highly recommended.

A friend invited us to his favorite restaurant in Paris, and what a find! We had so little time in Paris, our first visit to this city, so we were so very lucky to have a chance to experience a little slice of true Parisian life. You won't find English speaking waiters but you will encounter owners and staff eager to make you feel at home. Both my husband and I had a veal dish and it cannot be described other than delicious. Take a look at the desserts on your left as you enter and save room. And the prices, so reasonable! If ever we get to Paris again, I know we will make another trip to Le Baribal.
