a very pleasant reception in an atypical setting, the card (restreinte) promises a good quality of product. simple but good dishes, which make it back to the urge to have a good little meal.

OK, so it's not the best place to eat in Rouen, but you can't beat a place where the owner/chef (?) has been dedicated to churning out Rouenais specialties at a consistent rate of speed and quality for many years now. It's a charming little hole-in-the-wall bistro in the middle of a very touristy part of Rouen, and the food is very country-French. They'll even give you a shot of that Rouen rum that has been marinating with fruit and spices on top of the counter at the end of your meal. You leave feeling full and happy. View menu
