"the reception is professional and the pleasant room in this noble house. the courtyard terrace allows for a quiet lunch. A single menu with slate but varied. The cakes appeared to me fades (2 layer mushrooms filled with rillettes and hot) the mushrooms were overflowing with water and the presentation was raw. the lamb excellent cooked as desired but accompaniment poor (frites qqs veggies grated) - meat skewer tasteful but even accompaniment as for the lamb. Disappointing gourmet coffee. a beautiful discovery the chinon 2015 - the diligence- of Couly-Dutheil, remarkable! but that quickly increases the bill. We didn't get out with hunger but the plates despite quality ingredients lack peps."

beautiful setting, beautiful terrace but the reception and the kitchen are disappointing. fades dishes (half hull and actually a classic fried chicken), julienne of frozen vegetables, basic chocolate mousse.

a domed restaurant at the gargantua hotel. a very beautiful terrace in a medieval site. We ate a home salmon terrine and very tender beef pins. The welcome is nice. the boss presents and comments the dishes of the day orally. we have had a pleasant mement (July 25, 2017) View menu

the terrace is very pleasant. We came to eat: the meal is correct: I had taken a peat that was not very tasteful. And the fish was very dry I think it was coming out of the freezer! the wine we had been drinking was excellent and came from the estate couly Dutheil. Also, the dishes were not at the height of the frame.

It's been several times that we've come to eat gandoyl. each time, we are well received and the menus offered are excellent. When it's beautiful, the terrace is pleasant. If you want to taste the local aperitif of the boss, you will not be disappointed. ratio quality correct price. If we were to say something to improve, it would be to renew the card a little more often, but otherwise it's very good.

We happened on this restaurant while visiting Chinon. It is several hundred metres on the main street north beyond the centre, but well worth the walk. The large mushroom stuffed with rillette was delicious and the lamb was perfectly cooked and tender. Both the chocolate mousse and tarte aux pommes were very good, and the atmosphere quiet and pleasant. We would certainly choose this restaurant again. Tres bonne qualite-prix! View menu

Luckily booked this restaurant or wouldn't have got a table. Smallish menu but varied enough to chose from. Wine list which was mostly local excellent wine and very reasonably prices. Service was very friendly and efficient, Certainly one of the best experiences in Chinon and highly recommended. Beef dish appeared to be their speciality and from the number of orders you could see why. Will definitely have this on our list for future visits to Chinon.

Lovely setting on a terrace with a boutique hotel at one side and the kitchen at the other. I was early, ordered a nice bottle of white Loire wine and asked whether I could order food later. No problem. Friendly and attentive service. The food was nothing very fancy but quite OK. The starter was a local dish but in the end not very special: pork bacon. The meat was nice and juicy. The lamb steak was good, however the side dishes were meager. So, it was not very good (4 stars) but better than average (3 stars). Recommended.
