"My wife got the 24 euros menu and I got the degustation menu at 32. The amuse bouche was splendid: creamy goat cheese with beet juice, rosemary liquor with melon. She: Buffalo mozzarella salad. Classic. Nice portion.Me: trio of salmon with goat cheese, terrine and baked egg. The salmon was ok but I'd prefer it with acidic condiment. The cheese made it almost dry. The terrine lacked character, didn't have much flavor, so the pickle and the jam on the plate were needed. The baked egg was lying on spinach cooked in cream and was gorgeous. She: salmon as entrée. Nicely cooked. Nice cauliflower purée.Me: lamb shank. Nicely cooked. Good portion. Same side dishes as the salmon.Me: plateau of cheeses: pepper cheese, rosemary cheese, goat cheese... Small portions but still couldn't finish. She: as she is pregnant, they nicely prepared a desert not on the menu: fromage blanc with framboise coulis. Nicely done.Me: Apricot millefeuille, very light, delicious.Overall, good food. Service was great. People were very friendly. Location was quiet and refreshing."

My first restaurant in Sault when I discovered the region 15 years ago. My meal is always delicious and the ambiance enjoyable. I stop a Le Louvre a few times every season

The place we wanted to eat at was booked out (it was market day) so we ended up at Le Louvre on the square. The 23.50 euro menu was perfectly OK but not at all memorable. Service quite slow. It's a good place to sit and people watch, but next time we'll book early at the other place.

We stayed in Saults to ride Mnt Ventoux and booked in to the Albion hotelWe found the Louvre having been refused entry at the Provençal due to being too earlyThe food was delightful and the ambience super with many people from different counties Antonia; the owner : manager looked after us very wellHighly recommended!Hi

We have visited Sault on numerous occasions but some how missed this little gem, or may be it was always to busy. We had the set 23.50 euro menu, which we found to be excellent, all washed down with a half carafe of house rose, which was also good. The food was well presented and all sauces superb. Service good and we were not rushed.

We've been going to the Louvre for years, and have always found it to be very good bistro food and great value for the money. This year, the owner has changed the menu and is using only fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The food has been consistently delicious and to our taste, better than many a Michelin-starred restaurant. Incredible value for great food and cozy and lively ambience.

We chose the 23.50 Euro menu from which my husband had Melon and Parma Ham and I had the 3 Tomato salad with mozzarella, both were fine. The mains were salmon for my husband and a beef dish which was very much like Daube; huge chunks of beef slow cooked in a thick, rich sauce. It was very tasty. For dessert we both had Nougat Glace. With a pichet of local white it was, all in all, a good value meal.

We hosted a celebratory dinner at the restaurant for 15 people with the 23.50 set menu. This afforded our guests three choices for appetizers, for entrees, and for dessert. The food presentation was lovely and the dishes were so tasty. The staff in very friendly and gracious and accommodated our guests so wonderfully. The owner suggested a red and a white wine to pair with our meals and the price was quite reasonable.

We went to Fête de la Lavande (August 2015) in the village of Sault. Around lunch time it suddenly poured so everyone ran for the nearest cover! We grabbed the last table inside this hotel’s restaurant. Old-world charm, antique furniture (sat next to a lovely old piano), huge fireplace, warm cozy ambience. Had the heirloom tomato salad w/ mozzarella (marinated in basil olive oil); duck confit and baked salmon with sautéed vegetables and stewed barley Provençal style. Very traditional, delicious! For dessert, we chose the peach cake and chocolate mousse cake. Amazing! They were the BEST desserts we had on our month-long travel in Provence! The food was beautifully prepared and presented.
