"Awful service. This place came highly recommended by some friends of mine so I decided to finally give it a go only to have an awful experience. Luckily I was rescued by a pop up restaurant nearby which served incredible food out of a converted Citroen garage Having made a booking for 8pm I and my girlfriend turned up only to be told brusquely by the owner that they didn't take bookings at 8( so I had to wait at least an hour. I pointed out that maybe his staff who take phone calls should be told of this stringent rule, only for him to shrug and turn his back on me I cannot comment on the food but I did read beforehand that the service was suspect. I thought i'd put up with...read more"

This is a very reasonably priced French restaurant on Upper Street in an intimate venue. You can get a three course meal with wine for about £25 per head. Decent portion sizes and lovely service.

I go to the French restaurant when I am in london. quint and intimate with a good value for money compared to the usual London prices. service is always good and so is the food. Book but because this place is small and it fills quickly

It’s date night. You want to exude the romance and sophistication of suggesting French food, but you’re also on a budget. You’ve probably seen that the Bunch have tried and tested plenty of London’s high-end French restaurants on the blog, but if you’re looking for something more casual than crème de la crème then Le Mercury might be it.

Bistro chicly cheap. (Visit 10/5/10) My second trip to this restaurant, not quite as good as the first, but still serving decent French bistro fare for very reasonable prices. We had foie gras and duck ballotine for starter but weren't convinced it went with the bramley apple puree. Roast breast of barbary duck and honeyed pork belly for main course both very nice. Service good. Bill for two, with a drink each, inc tip £35

mercury may be the Roman gott of the poesie, but le mercury is poesie in movement and londons gott of value. from the beaten away, but the walk worth, they take the victoria line to highbury and islington, bend them right from the station and go 10 minutes to the travelvalue sky ... hooah future 30 minutes before our reservation, thanks we started with bottles of ochagavia (chile £16.95), a oaky, spicy cabernet sauvignon and hildon sparkling water (750 ml £2.50) of the service perfectly, all...read more

Horrible. The poorly des.... Horrible The poorly designed entrance should have been the first warning sign but after booking for 7:30 and confirming twice we were told that at 7:29 we had arrived late and our table has been given away After offering no alternative except a firm Please leave and witnessing patrons bumping elbows and arguing with each other because of the cramped, poorly lit, layout we left and think you shouldn't waste your time when there are limitless (better) options available elsewhere in the area.

uptown and the boot want to push a little. they have been passing this restaurant for years, but never went inside. I and a friend have decided that we take the fall! small, intimate and perfect for a romantic night out. the tables are a bit too close to my lust, otherwise the table setting was inviting and crisp. menu is a many number of French classifieds. I decided to fasan and my friend went for the duck. both cooked beautiful and seldom, with crisp skin. perfect. wein was expensive, but the menu had an extensive list to choose from. I was too full of dessert. an intimate restaurant, perfect for date night!

We didn't even get to eat!. We booked a table at the new second Le Mercury, but when we arrived we were told that although they had our booking the restaurant was full. The restaurant had apparently either taken some people in who had not booked or had over-booked. We were asked to come back in half an hour but we were not at all confident that there would be a table at 8pm when the restaurant was so full at 7.30. The person who spoke to us was distinctly unapologetic about it. This is the first time in 30 years of dining out that a restaurant has failed to honour a booking and I am left distinctly unimpressed.

I have booked a table about their website where they need to give their data such as phone number and email address. the table was booked with a month in advance to celebrate our high time. we went there to our special day at 13:45, table was booked 14:00 on 27 December 2018. When we arrived there, a guy opened the door and told us it was closed. we told him that we have booked a table at 14:00, he says he knows, but they have a technical problem with the kitchen and they were not sure when they will open, probably at 15:00 so, instead of calling us or sending us an email to know that the restaurant was closed, let us get there and ruin our special day...read more
