"We really were only looking for a place to have a rest and a glass or two of wine, and this appeared to be a good spot. It's located within 15 yards of the entrance to the Abbey and across the street for the Tourist Visitors Bureau (which, as an aside, has some of the best prices on locally produced wine). The benefit to the proximity to the Tourism Office was that free WiFi was available. So while we enjoyed our first glass of wine, we were able to catch up briefly on messages, etc. BUT --- the real surprise came in the food. We had not intended to eat, but then changed our minds --- and the food was quite good. My wife had a salad chock full of vegetables and meats, and I had one of the best quiches I've had in quite some time. Crustless on the sides --- it was flavorful, we'll balanced with ingredients, and perfectly done. It’s a simple place for sure, but certainly exceed our expectations in terms of food, price and location."

Came here for a late break and lunch. W had Croque Monsieur, Carbonara and the mixed meat plate. Service was good, prices likewise and the setting quaint.

The mains appeared to be all home made, typical French pastry - super quiche Lorraine - exquisite apple pie - friendly service - dogs allowedAvoid cheese platter for dessert I only was offered one piece of under ripe cheese - my fault as I should have asked before ordering

It seemed to us to be on the Rue Gabriel Jeanton rather than the Place de l'Abbaye. Very welcoming cafe with pleasant seating area onto the street. Very reasonable prices and good food. We were warned as we ordered that there would be a little wait. It was 25 mins which did not seem bad.

.... and people watching! The Nicoise salads are excellent, as were the crepes for desserts. This restaurant is right next to the abbey. In good weather you can sit outside, but inside looks nice too. Wonderful friendly service from what must be one of the busiest waiters ever. he never seems to stop.

We had low expectations - a tourist place in a tourist town right next to the biggest tourist attraction. But it was fine. On a cold wet day we ate lunch inside, where it's pretty cramped. But the quiches were freshly made and good, the service was quick and personable, and the prices refreshingly normal for a town where prices can be alamingly high.

Tucked in the shadow of the beautiful church of St. Philibert in Tournus, this little cafe served me up the most delicious little casserole of escargots imaginable. I am determined to try to re-create this dish with its snails, sliced potatoes, and its sauce of parsley--but I'll have to do this while still in France, unless someone can tell me where to get good snails for cooking in Oklahoma! The mustard salad dressing was also to die for. After this perfect lunch I was ready to tackle the study of the church and its architecture.

The restaurant over the road something Marion were very unpleasant and so we crossed the road to this place. Good value food that the we all loved the boys (teenagers) had the lasagne we had the quiche Lorraine both great dishes for a quick lunch. Pleasant French jazz/swing music in the background. We are indoors and it was comfortable and a lot cooler than outside. Toilet is worth a visit just to see it's grotto effect it was clean tidy with soap and a dyson hand drier only cold water though. Pudding was Magnums for the boys, apple tart for me and cheese for my wife. Only complaint is that the cheese would have been better if there had been a selection rather than just a portion of sheep's...
