"We had booked online the same day and the table was later confirmed. We had read good things and were not disappointed. Service was not at all slow, as another reviewer mentioned. We were given lots of help with our choice of a white wine aperitif and the white wine to accompany the meal. Both very good and reasonably priced. While making our choices from the Vauban menu (39 euros) an amuse bouche arrived to tempt us, which it did! We chose foie gras pate and a tomato dish with basil sorbet, both dishes having excellent flavours. Before these starters arrived there was another amuse bouche of seafood in a red pepper dip, again very tasty. Also lovely bread rolls with a lime infused butter, which was really nice. More rolls arrived during the starter.. We were unaware of any delay between courses, certainly only enough to enjoy one another's company. For main course I had the sea bass which was perfectly cooked and served with clams and some diced vegetables, very good flavour. John had the duck which he had pink and enjoyed very much. Then we had a pre dessert dessert, which was a rich cherry, cream and chocolate combination leaving me with a black forest gateaux flavour, excellent. We had both chosen the lime souffle with margarita sorbet, it was fantastic! Loved it, want to know how to make it:-). We did not have coffee, but saw others who did received petit fours with the drinks. We were very full from 2 desserts already. We also had a bottle of sparkling water. The Maitre'd was very helpful with wine and menu choices and translation, merci Madame. The waiters were friendly and very efficient! Total cost 126 euros, well worth it for a superb meal and wine, including pre dinner drinks."

At €38 for the three course meal plus a couple amuse bouches and different kinds of breads, it's a great deal because it was also delicious.

I visit this restaurant mainly for lunch with my wife about six or seven time a year. The food is faultless and the lunch menu is exceptional value. The service is also faultless and very efficient....I can't wait to go back!

Loved everything about it, service is excellent compared to anywhere we have been in France, food is high standard and atmosphere is just lovely! The only thing I would recommend to the place is - to have some quiet music on the background, then it would be 10 out of 10 View menu

One of the top gastronomic experiences at a very affordable price with top quality service. Staff are friendly an knowledgable, speak english and smile. The quality of the food is outstanding and very original. Full course menu is well worth it and wine list is very appropriately priced.

Food and wine excellent, great service, relaxed atmosphere. What we really enjoyed about this place, apart from the superbly presented and flavoured dishes, was that it didn't feel stuffy like many fine dining restaurants - there was a relaxed atmosphere and the manager was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Had lunch at this restaurant the other day with a group of friends. The food is okay and not offensive. Once can't say the same about the service. Snotty is the best word to discernible the non so warm service. The food is nothing special. If you are one that gets impressed with small portions of "carrot mouse" or worse yet, like foam on your food then you might like this overrated restaurant. View menu

This was our first visit to Le Vauban, although we have been going on holiday to Antibes for several years. Six of us had arranged to meet up for the first time in many years. Our companions were local retirees who live within a few miles of Antibes. The restaurant is in the heart of Old Antibes, not far from the main square. The starters, especially the foie gras de canard maison, were excellent. I ordered hake and was well pleased with the choice. We all agreed that the food was first class and not expensive, given the locality. The service was excellent and friendly. I would make a point of returning the next time we are in Antibes.

We´ve visited Le Vauban on 5-6 occasions during the last 3 years, the most recent visit being two weeks ago. We were a bit disappointed to realize, that this restaurant has gone from excellent to "only" very good (which is, of course, still OK for the majority of people). While we have always recognized the service in Le Vauban being on the "colder" side, the wonderful food there has always compensated for it, and we have always ended the dinner with a certainty that we will return. This time around we noticed, that the portions have really become minimalistic and lost the fantasy or the "dedication" they used to have. Combined with once again a rather cold service, it left us NOT considerin...

"In this location, surrounded as it is with large restaurants spilling out onto the pavement with their me-too menus of les pizzas and pâtes and overly familiar sounding meals, it is most unexpected to find a bespoke and personal restaurant offering a fine selection of dishes cooked with care. The menu, described appropriately as the 'carte du moment' presents a mercifully small number of seasonal and therefore changing entrées, plats and desserts. However, it is still hard to choose. Each one is enticing, interesting and original with the promise of flavours, combinations of ingredients and textures, without tricks and unnecessary embellishment. For a large number, a selection of all the entrées as share dishes makes a lot of sense. Everyone gets a taste of something and the difficulty of having to choose is avoided. For the plats, a single selection is best with pork, duck, tuna and salmon along with risotto as options on the night we were there. A fine burger also available is perhaps a concession to the location and, actually, a very fine dish. Four desserts are offered with each one tempting and beautifully prepared. Another selection for the table is highly recommended. The wine list is adequate and the ambiance works for lone dining as well as for a larger and more raucous group. The service is smiling and efficient as well as courteous. This is a place to make a favourite. The risk to this reviewer is that it will become deservedly highly popular and impossible for last minute bookings."
