"We arrived at 1:30pm for lunch for family of 5. After an hour of waiting I chased up our food to find out that our order hadn’t gone through to the kitchen properly. A problem they were apparently aware of from previous experience (so why didn’t you check earlier! . We waited another half hour and chased food again to be told it was just coming. Most of us were half way through our meal by the time the last meal came out. The food itself was lovely. But the service was terrible. It really spoilt our lunch as everyone was grumpy by the time it arrived and we were late for an afternoon activity. Really disappointed. We were discounted for 4 drinks for the trouble. I wouldn’t recommend this cafe and we won’t be back. I asked about putting in a formal complaint. We left at 3:20pm."

Good cake choices, and a good coffee ,too many places don't put enough coffee beans in the drinks so they end up weak ,kudos to you View menu

Had a tasty family lunch here on Saturday. It was a really lovely atmosphere and we were really well looked after by the staff. No room left for the fab selection of cakes, so we all took a slice home! We will be back soon.

We ate some luscious cakes and drank some quality tea at this pleasant tearooms. Housed in a converted grain store, with the original beams on show amongst the lovely light stone walls, the room is airy and light filled. Friendly staff and free parking.

When travelling long distance we always try to avoid Motorway service stations, unless it’s Gloucester or Tebay which are excellent. We have a really useful book called: The Extra Mile. It gives reviews and locations of good places to stop not far from the motorways. As on the M40, we perused the book and it recommended Limes Farm cafe. We weren’t disappointed. Lovely food and wonderful cakes in particular. Very friendly people also. Really pleased to have found the cafe and will definitely stop there again when on an M40 journey. Only a few minutes off the motorway and definitely worth a stop. Highly recommend View menu

We were a mature group of three and on arrival we asked the young girl behind the counter if it was table service and she told us that it was. In all we saw four girls on the cafe floor and one lad in the kitchen. We waited and waited and failed to get any service. There were two other tables occupied and one girl was slowly cleaning tables. I asked her if we could be served. She went off to the counter where the other three were. We waited a further 10 minutes and left as no one served us. 5 members of staff and hardly any customers. Sadly Ill motivated and poorly trained young staff. I could not recommend this place to anyone

I went to limes farm for breakfast with my partner on Sunday and we are so glad that we did. We had seen some very positive reviews so decided to take the 30min journey to try for ourself. Let me say we were not disappointed. I had the large full English breakfast which was very nice. Bacon and sausage of the highest quality and the hash-brown were cooked to perfection. My partner had a sausage and egg sandwich on white bread and he loved it was filled with fillings and the bread always fresh and really tasty. Staff were all very friendly especially Rachel and Becky( the chef even came out to check on our experience. I can not recommend this place enough!! We will definitely be making it a r...

"we had read very good reviews about the green room, me and 2 friends who have not seen themselves for a few years decided to go for the afternoon. we telephoned, booked afternoon tea and paid our deposit 2 days before. when we arrived. the waiter took us on our table and said: “I’m sorry, but the system didn’t update, so they didn’t know that we wanted to go the afternoon.” that seemed very strange when they had taken the deposit from us 2 days ago! the waiter said we had to order from the normal midday menu. after we had eaten our salad! we wanted to order 3 coffees, I asked the waitress if we could order coffee, her answer was: “It’s difficult because I don’t have a pen!” I didn’t reply, there are only 3 coffees and cakes. I then asked about the bill that lasted about 15 minutes when they finally arrived, they had not taken the deposit we had previously paid, and the waitress said: "She must talk to the manager, I explained that I stayed 10 minutes on the parking lot, so she could be fast. When I asked her what happened to the bill she said, they must go into the bar and sort it with the manager. I was very annoyed by the lack of customer service, not only had they forgotten our afternoon, but had also accused the wrong crowd. he was quite arrogant and served other people and let us wait. he said he would take £11 for the mistake with the afternoon! it is a shame that eating and the environment is very beautiful. Unfortunately, the customer service makes this place so much down. it is safe to say we will never return or will not recommend it to one of our friends."
