"Augusta is not the buzziest town in Sicily, so we had modest expectations of its restaurants. A chance conversation directed us to Scorfano Rosso and how lucky we were. Situated in a wonderful 17th century building that had previously been a religious foundation and a vet school, it's only a couple of minutes walk from the main square in a quiet side street. The welcome was warm, and help offered to translate the menu which was not long but offered a great variety of local produce and some memorably delicious and interesting dishes although I admit we all passed on the donkey). Particularly good was warm octopus salad, baked cheese fro Ragusa, drizzled with honey and thyme and accompanied by a caponata strong on flavour, as well as simple but perfectly fresh grilled tuna and Black Angus steak. The wine list featured interesting local wines. Service was efficient and friendly and it was a hugely enjoyable evening, the more so for being unexpected. Great value for money and highly recommended."

Went to this restaurant after a search on trip advisor. The food was excellent and the service also. The decor is nice and rustic. I recomend this restaurant to all fish lovers.

Posizione forse un po 'difficile da trovare, senza alcuna vista, come in un vicolo quasi nascosto, ma se siete alla ricerca di qualità questo è il posto giusto... Tutto bene. Un consiglio unico che sento di dare è usare riccioli locali, molto più saporito. Consigliato.

Locale mediocre, nel menù poca scelta di tutto dagli antipasti ai secondi, le portate striminzite, per quello che abbiamo ordinato 2 antipasti 3 primi e 2 dolci e una bottiglia di vino da 23 €.. il conto è stato un pò salato... Came back for a third year running and it just get better on each occasion. The service was friendly and helpful, recommending a local wine that was excellent for just €13. The food was varied and the sea food cous cous a revaluation. They even catered for our veggie grand daughter making a pasta dish with cheese that she so loved that she had it again for second course. The other great thing was that being off the tourist trail we were the only foreigners there a real taste of Sicily
