"Only ten minutes from Deauville and you are away from holiday makers’ restaurants to where the locals dine – which doesn’t mean visitors are not welcome. By coincidence we were at the l'Orangeraie when it opened five years ago and it’s always been first class. With trepidation, then, we discovered new owners (September 2013). Some things have not changed, like the singing love birds, and one is still greeted at the door by a (new) lady Patron. Prices broadly the same but, following mentions in previous reviews, it’s now good to see more fish dishes. The new tip-top Menu at 45€ will give you a fine choice including the likes of oysters and fois gras to start, followed by beef, lamb, sea bass, and then cheese of course and desert. I had a delicious Sole as a main (still waiting for an explanation how Sole Meunière can be put out in Deauville at €39)Wine list good, with some carafes and halves. Overall, perhaps now not so sophisticated but caring attentive service and a good kitchen. Very good mid-week lunch prices. A complimentary glass not of Calvados but subtlety flavoured Rum to see us on our way. A good start. Here’s to another five years!"

The food here Is very good but the experience is slightly marred by very slow service. Patience is the key; if you have the time the food is worth the wait!

Our last night in France and a stunning meal on the 27E menu. Best value all fortnight. Great quality and lovely surroundings. Worth traveling out of Deauxville to visit...

This restaurant served a really good meal. We had the orange douce menu (EUR 29) and it was marvelous. The staf was nice. Compliments from the Dutch clients. Sure we will come back soon View menu

The small village/town of Touque has a number of small family run restaurants which all provide excellent service and good food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the Deauville area. My wife and I ate here with friends and enjoyed our meal.

We have booked a table there in advance and we were single visitors at this place that day. It was really good Normandic gourmet cuisine with excellent service. Our waiter advised us good wine and our time there was very pleasant. I can recommend this restaurant

Totally unexpected. I thought we were going for really traditional French cuisine. It was, but everything with a very different twist. Each meal had a spice, a subtle touch that reminded of the Caribbeans. Whether it was that very special pepper sauce, flavourful but not strong or all the desserts that were to die for. Service is impeccable. Decor is really nice. View menu

So rarely does one stumble across a culinary gem , a modest restaurant with a chef that truly has the skills to transform quality ingredients into dishes that are truly memorable. Both of our "entrees" and mains were superb ( we both had different kinds of fish with entirely different flavor profiles). The atmosphere is cozy and the chef's wife greats you and takes care of you throughout your time at their restaurant. Put this one on your list and you'll be glad you did.

Eight of us on a golf holiday chose to dine here - to find something local and different, and to get away from the overpriced dining in Deauville! The new lady owner offered a very warm welcome. We started with a drink outside in the sunshine, where we ordered and moved into the 15th century timbered building for our dinner. The €29 menu and the €40 menus both looked good and turned out to be excellent value for money. The food is all fresh Normandy produce. We started with an amuse bouche of vegetable soup, then local smoked salmon and oyster soup. The main course portions of the fish of the day and the speciality fish presentations were moderate but adequate in size, but all exceedingly ta...

"we had recommended au sablier, and the TripAdvisor reviews seemed very positiw, and we were not disappointed. we went twice, on Tuesday 23rd august 2022 and again on Saturday 27th august, which shows that we were happy after our first visit. the Tuesday evening was relatiw calm and we had no problem getting a table. Saturday was significantly more busy and therefore the employees were more busy with others, and although we probably had a table ok, we were glad that we had made a reservation. in the did, as the people would arrive more people on speckle to the available tables, and there was a little turnover of clientel from foot into the . the eating was excellent, and the entire facility was quite relaxed on Tuesday, with only a small staff team. we went for the 35€ fixed price 3 curs menu, and it wasn't until the end of the meal that we discovered the ~26€ fixed price menu that was only slightly from the more expensive menu in my review. we should have done this, and then we searched for this menu price in every restaurant we visited in the next days. note that on the weekend this cheapest fixed price menu does not seem to be available anywhere, nor was it available in au sablier on Saturday. from all restaurants we visited, this is one where we felt the most relaxed. it would be churlish not to give total appreciation, especially if compared to other places we ate. as mentioned above, we give a total excellent rating, with value for money wfm as very good. if we 'd discover the cheapest ~26€/head fixed price menu on Tuesday we gave 'd an excellent total wfm rating. we look forward to returning! merci!"
