"This restaurant takes pride in the food it offers. Local veg, wine and meat put together in lovely new combinations. The cook creates great modern plates without going too far with the tastes.Every time we have been it has been very tasty, the portions are very satisfying. In the mean time we would recommend anything on the menu. We've tried everything from rabbit, veal, beef, chicken, lamb, liver, trout, pike, salmon... The wild garlic noodles were a treat today! So was the rabbit wrapped in savoy cabbage ... and the oriental lamb on couscous... and on and on.All in all a highly recommendable restaurant with friendly staff and great interior displaying the past centuries.Germany at it's best, I would say."

Food was OK, but the location is very charming, felt as if I was eating in someone's home. The white aspargus ("Spargel") had just come into season and all the specials featured this in on way or another.

Lovely building- real character. Very attentive and charming staff. There were 3 of us and each chose a different meal- all 3 were excellent. Authentic German food cooked very well indeed. Very tasty. A happy evening.

This is a little downstairs restaurant that serve beautiful food. It is fresh, local and what can be is made on premise. You can have a quiet meal here for one or with group. In the summer time, they also have an outside venue. Give it a try. View menu

what a delight, old fashioned cooking and all hand made. Rarely you see a restaurant making its from from scratch and the old way, like they used to do!They make their Spaetzle by hand and in house. The typical Badener cooking at it's best. We had lunch with family and will be back for sure for dinner the next time we are in town.

I eat outside which was excellent vew and setting. The service was quick. The food was fine. I had wild salmon whcih was good, but I for one could had done with less breading. My friend had a vegetable dish which was excellent. The salads look ed and tasted like an American sald, but found the lettuce was setting on a bed of sherred carrots and radishes. Not bad.

In autumn german restaurants start to offer wild deer meal. We ordered wild ragout in Markgrafenkeller and it was really really yummy! The meat was tender and the sauce is perfectly matched with the meat. Beside are Köndeln (dumplings) and pear with raspberry jam. The whole experience in this restaurant was awesome! This was one of the best meals I've eaten in Germany. View menu

We stopped off at Ettlingen to break a long journey home and walked into this very pleasant small town for a bite to eat. After checking out a few options we chose the Markgrafenkeller, sitting outside as the weather was good (inside looked very pleasant too). The place was very busy with plenty of locals (always a good sign!) and a number of tourists. Service was prompt and efficient, food good with ample portions and my beer very refreshing! My wife enjoyed her wine also. Would choose this place again.

The food from this region is very under rated in my opinion. We had excellent local pasta, pfifferlinge (a type of mushroom), and pork with a cream sauce. I like to cook this type of food myself and although it is not complicated, the secret lies in the quality of the ingredients and this could not be faulted. The menu is seasonal and the produce is all local. I thought the prices were very reasonable. It's located in the heart of the town and it's probably nicer to sit outside, weather permitting.Service is a bit hit and miss, but they aren't deliberately rude. Overall, if you are a tourist coming to the region, this is a very good place to eat good local food.

"the zwitscherstube is the secret of the small garden club „Kuhlager Seele“ rüppurr e.V. is located in the center of the small garden complex of the same name. the latter is located at the rande of the Karlsruher-Näher- und landschaftsschutzgebiet above the forest. because the car traffic on the small garden area is prohibited, the restaurant returns the approx. 150 meters long distance from parking to restaurant back to foot. or he comes from the beginning to the foot or with the wheel. the reward for this little effort is an idyllic seat under shaded trees, and far away from the traffic noise. they listen to the beautiful terrace only tweeting the birds, the talks of the guests and the children when they play on the place that can be seen from the terrace, fenced and beautifully decorated.
