"The atmosphere is wonderful, a beautiful tile floor and wine bottles decorating the walls. Marta was our server, and was running the front all by herself, with her husband in the kitchen cooking. I would say that by Italian standards the service was a normal pace. She speaks enough English to get the job done, but was extremely patient when practicing our Italian with her. The food was incredible; the caprese was fresh and light, the gnocchi melted in your mouth, tagliatelle was rich and flavorful but delicate. The baccalà was firm flaky and delightful, the pigeon was also very rich and flavorful and I would 100% recommend trying! For dessert the chocolate cake with homemade gelato, and cantuccini. Again both were excellent and well presented. In fact, the presentation on all dishes was fantastic. We love Martarè and will recommend to anyone looking for an authentic meal in Firenze"

Cosy little place on a quiet street near the cathederal in Florence, away from tourists. Food was delicious and owner very sweet. And wine list amazing.

Can’t recommend this place enough, it wasn’t overly busy but don’t let that put you off. It is away from the tourist traps but still close enough to walk too. Greeted by the owner, her and her husband cook and run front of house. Food was some of the best we’ve had in Florence. Must go!

It was a great evening. We ordered the menu degustazione and it was an excellent choice. We probably had eight different dishes from appetizers to dessert, plus 4 types of wine and everything was excellent, fresh and perfectly presented. In addition, a very nice and friendly lady serves us. What do you want? The place, food and service first class
