"Update : Returned here after 4 years away. My review below from 2018 stands, except breakfast was very disappointing. Croissants etc were not fresh. ________ Surprisingly good food, at any time. One of my problems in Cádiz is that the Spanish restaurants don't open up til 8:30pm for dinner. I prefer dinner at 6pm. The options to eat well at 6pm in Cádiz are very limited, but this place was a welcome find. They have both a full menu and a tapas menu. but forget the tapas. You can find much greater variety of large and small dishes on the large menu. Try the toasts, wonderful combinations served on beautiful toasted bread. But the toppings were superb. The café/bar is situated on the wonderful Plaza Mina. A true centre of society in Cádiz. From 6pm the plaza is crowded (not too much) with all ages. Nice trees, good shade. Great."

One of the many pavement cafes serving alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and food in a lovely, quieter square away from the tourist traps.

Just left this restaurant and it was fine. Service was quick friendly, and the prices were good. Had the seafood paella and a pint of beer €14.

Lovely location, in the shade of trees in the picturesque square. Excellent service and high quality food at reasonable price. Good english spoken! View menu

amazing eating and service! we were here with adult and children and the choice of food was great, all freshly cooked, to the warm brot! delicious paella, ripen, hake, pineapple and seafood salad, and high quality child food!

Medíocre Mediterraneo The Salmorejo was way too salty. The croquetas were so tasteless we suspect they forgot to add Jamon, Queso and Puchero to the bechamel in the Sortido as listed in the menu. Their terrace is in a nice location at Plaza de lá Mina. Therefore, a nice place for drinks.

this wonderful bistro bar has not disappointed! we enjoyed delicious glasses from sangria over tapas....the toast specialties are delicious. our favorite was the one with goat cheese, caramelized wobble and balsamico. the other had smoky. we also loved the pork cheeks that had been cooked slowly for several hours. best ever. we highly recommend this venue! we really enjoyed the place. good location and a good selection of food. we tried some jámon and salmon toasts who were very tasty! we also ordered a large fish plate and it was enormous. we couldn’t manage to finish it, but it was also tasty (consider its “ deep fried everything “ type of food). affordable prices and the service were good (only two waiters at the beginning, later a third came and accelerated the orders). we have paid a total of 33 euro for everything they see in the photos and 2 animals ever. highly recommended!

Mediocre food, great sangria. The staff looked exhausted att 11pm, more than 2 hours before closing. We were not super hungry, so we only ordered starters and a kids meal. The Caesar salad was not really a a Caesar salad, but was not bad. The Hake was ok but the portion size was tiny, and the caprese salad was below average. The worst if all was the kids chicken nuggets: the actual nuggets were likely from frozen, the fries were undercooked and the croquets that cane with the order we inedible, sweet for all things for some unknown reason. Would not come back again with so many great restaurants around.
