"Went there with family a friends- not sure if it as there when I was at med school in ErlangenThe menu reads well and there were four to five dishes I would have liked to eat which is rare. Do not expect any fancy fine dining flashes and foams and jellies but solid German fare (was once described gutbuergerlich before this became a swearword) well executed and nicely presentedI choose a wild garlic soup 8/10; some asparagus with hollandaise an an schnitzel 9/10 sauces perfect (beurre blanc') ; my daughter had scallops with black rissotto 8/10 and pork fillet (said it was iberico not sure if iberico pork or iberico ham covering it 7/10) desserts where nice and I enjoyed a silvaner from a small wine makerWhat wasn t too like? It is popular (book if you go which I recommend you do) and in line with other places in Germany they save on service so it was overstretched too long wait for wine and bill went awol in-between (I don't blame them they were no enough and neither professional or well trained they did what they could)"

Stumbled into this place after looking for a week for somewhere good with local cuisine. Didn't have reservation, but managed to get an available table....

Very nice place, lovely refurbished. Very friendly staff and good food. Would definitely go again. Wouldn't have the duck next time as it was not spectacular. Perhaps a Schnitzel.

You would expect a French or Italian course meal in this fine dining atmosphere but instead you get Sauerbraten with Kartoffelklöße, Franconian specialties. The food is really nicely presented and with a stretch, you can almost say that German food can be elegant.

We have eaten here a number of times and each time has been a good experience. The service is efficient rather than friendly but the menu deserves your attention. The rooms and ambience are quite similar to an English pub but good Franken food and drink are delivered.

Had dinner in this place last night. The restaurant has a cozy feel and the staff is free. The menu options are typical for this area but the wine list is limited. The food was well prepared but the portions were a bit big. All in all an ok place, good for almost any occasion, but not exceptional.

The interior of this place is already amazing, it is like a history book opened up for real. The food on the menu is traditional German, so in the beginning, I was somewhat hesitant, but then decided to give it a try. I had venison with bread dumplings and red cabbage, and truly every bite was a pleasure. Accompanied by a locally brewed beer (non of the big brands well know all over the country), I had a perfect dinner. Not to forget the friendly service.

I lived in the area some 6 years ago. Visiting Erlangen now again on 06May2015 after those years this was the place I wanted to visit again. Lucky enough it was during the aspargus season and could enjoy the aspargus with the franconian grilled sausages, for me it was a feast with a glas Sylvaner white wine. This you must try. The staff is friendly, the setting is nice, many other visitors seemed to enjoy their dinner with friends and family. Prices are very reasonable. To be sure to have a table you may consider to make a reservation first.
